pearls in my bloodstream
make waves of glamour that
shoot up through my veins
like heroine frequencies
and synthesizer vanities,
so i'm taking trips to Haiti
somewhere in the states of mind
clouding up my brain,
oh god save the queen.
i've been driving cars from the backseat
speeding for weeks on end,
tasting the air creeping into back windows
and feeling ex-wives and dead cells
destroy the tip of my tongue;
i'm driving into the future
getting nowhere fast.
