Description
The real reason why Mewtwo didn’t come back.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely adore that Greninja is going to be a playable character, but I’m not really sure why. It would have been a perfect opportunity for Mewtwo to come back in, with him being in X and Y and having mega evolutions like Lucario and Charizard.
I’m not complaining, this idea just popped into my head and I HAD to make a quick little comic about it!

Or, maybe he was kidnapped or something. Either one really.

Oh! That would be nice. I now Nintentdo DLC's aren't really too expensive, and it'd be a lot cheaper than buying both versions! Hopefully that's the case.

I know, but he wasn't in the last game so I'm not so sure he's going to make a comeback. But, there's still a big chance with him coming back and I'll be screaming my head off in excitement if he does!

Come on. He's one of the more popular and iconic Pokemons. Not to mention he became more relevant due to Gen 6, where he got to advertise the Mega Evolution feature and he himself got two Mega Evolution, plus being a main character in the newest film, PLUS featuring in Pokemon Origins. AND of course being heavily requested for both being a fan favorite Pokemon and being in Melee.
Really, to me, he's all but confirmed, so don't lose hope just yet!

I'm really not losing hope! The line's just coming close with the 3Ds version coming out in the summer, and there have been plenty of other times were fairly popular characters weren't included in the games. I just thought this would be a fun idea to draw out, so please don't take this too personally!

Alright, I think you just have to understand were those people viewpoints are. Usually Nintendo makes a huge deal about their games and what characters are going to be in them. They practically released all the new pokemon in x and y (save for Zygarde and some presumed special event pokemon) and the mega evolutions before the game even came out. I just think that if such a big pokemon as mewtwo were going to be in it, they would have announced it alongside Megaman and such. I'm not saying they're not going to have him, and I'm not saying they are. If they don't have him, that's fine, and if they do have him that's also fine. You can't just say it's pathetic for someone to think something that is completely understandable and can make sense with what has come out already. I know it may be upsetting that people are giving up on one of your favorite characters in the game, but please just watch how you say things and the tones you're using with words in your text, they may come of as rude to some people.

Okay, so "pathetic" may be a bit of a strong word, but it still kind of sad to see them just bandwagoning all of a sudden despite the absolute lack of evidence and following fallacious claims. Didn't intended to come off as rude, though, I just couldn't find a better word for that behavior. >_>

I know it may be sad, but the people who are saying that mewtwo isn't going to be in the game have a reason to, a doubt anyone here would hate to have mewtwo in the game, people such as myself just saw some things that were released that was pointing towards the conclusion of mewtwo most likely not being in the game, while other people see anything but built up upon evidence that they've seen, and that's fine. I'm probably perfectly wrong on mewtwo rejoining the game, but to me I still haven't seen any evidence of him returning. If you know of anything nintendo has released that may hint or point towards mewtwo being in the game, I'd love to see it! He was one of my favorite people to play as in the original game, and I would love to see him in action once more!

Yeah, I know that he may get in, there is till a long time until the wii-u version comes out and summer isn't quite here yet. It makes too much sense that he would be included. I don't think I'd revise it, but I would definitely make some sort of sequel.

I honestly don't know if I enjoy Mewtwo's horrified expressions more or what leads to Greninja and its "subtle" way of showing its interested.
Nonetheless, I agree that I'm SO excited to play as Greninja now. I'm still hoping Meta Knight will be officially announced. It seems like a given, but who knows when Yoshi wasn't announced until after Yoshi's New Island was released. Same thing with King Dedede in Kirby: Triple Deluxe when it was launched in Japan. Sorry, going off of the topic there.
I always thought this might be the case for some fighters "dropping out." Poor Mewtwo. I think he was smart this time around, but he will be missed. When you have competitors you don't already know about, that makes your life even harder. Thus, we have Greninja as our most recent victim substitute this time around. He has no idea what's truly going to go on with him. Although I'm going to be amazed if a lot of people really want Jigglypuff back. I personally think Sonic kind of already took care of what Jigglypuff used to provide for those kinds of fighters, so I don't think Jigglypuff is really necessary to return.
In particular, I love the way Star Fox and Greninja are adapted into your style. Although Greninja seems pretty large in proportions to the trees and the perspective. I know what you were going for though. As two other critique points, I would have made the angle and "trail/path" of the water shuriken much sharper both in the borders and as an angle too. For someone like Greninja with pinpoint accuracy along with a weapon like a shuriken, I visually imagine very sharp angled impacts over the curve you used. Still it got the message across and that's the main thing. Lastly, Master Hand technically has four fingers, not three. Although it's not a distracting error, so don't worry about it.
All in all, I like the humor and the expressions used to create this wonderful comic. I like where your mind went with this comic. Keep up the great work!

Ah! I would love to have Meta Knight back too! He was one of my favorite characters!
For the proportions and stuff, I was trying to make this comic pretty quick before I got distracted by something else (my attention span is horrible!) so I wasn't 100% paying attention to the proportions.
And with Master hands fingers I always give my adaption of characters that many fingers than their normal count, it's a nasty habit of mine! I've watched too many cartoons in my lifetime...

I think everyone wanted him! I'm still surprised that he didn't get a spot in the game since he's pretty much been re-introduced into the games. Oh well, even if he won't be a playable character, he may still have some role in the game!
