And you have nothing to apologize for. I can understand your English, even if some sentences are not perfectly correct. In this case, the correct structure is either "always make me smile" or "always put a smile on my face".

"always" should be used before the verb, with two exceptions:

- after the verb "to be", as in "She is always late."

- after auxiliary verbs (for example, "to have") as in "She has always loved strawberries." Here "to have" is an auxiliary verb because it helps form the present perfect tense with "to love".
