...Why is it that all the crap art gets all the favs/comments, and the truely beautiful stuff like this gets nothing? *sigh*
I totally adore this though. The background, characters, style, everything. Beautiful job! <3

Wow, that I must say is a truely amazing piece to look at. Very well done on the jungle, awesome water and yes, that fur is sooo detailed!! Your animal anatomy is exceptional! (Don't touch me, I'm on a 'big-word roll') I really love the way you've managed to get the couple of pieces of wood at the waterline lookin so good with the grass.
Things to improve water for next time:
Look at trying some refraction... you know when you look at your feet in the water and they're at either the wrong angle or they look big or just distorted..
Reflection vs. Refraction : going off into the background, past a certain angle, you can't see whats below the water, it should just reflect things like the sky and tree line. but up close it should look just like you've got it, where you can see whats just below the surface
Waterline : see what happens if you add a very small hint of a 'side of the river' before the grass starts, some deep earth tones interweaved behind the last bits of grass, might give it a bit more of 'here is the edge' feel
Awesome job though, theres some little things to work on...
The characters are stunning, especially the eyes!

^^ Woah, thanks for the uber-detailed comment, there Alex.
Actually, i DID play with reflections, and a water line with this one.. i jsut couldnt get them looking quiiiite right, and in the end, i thought better of having them in there. Like i said, i'm new to the water thing, and i'll get better as i go.. ^^ Cheers for the help!! I'll find it useful, i'm sure.
I was actually gonna show this to you n Aims yesterday when you showed up, but inbetween dinner, jelly-lollies in my baked beans, and you vilating my shoulder in a catlike manner.. i didnt get round to it!!
Thanks again dude.

Day-Yum! That's a great pic! I'm really envious of your textures and patience! I just don't have patience for detail or realism! I'm horribly horribly impressed! *sinks into a mire of self-loathing*

*snuggleluffkiss* Baby this is without a doubt, the most awesome piece you've ever created. I'm still thrilled to bits over the detail, blending and hard work you've put into this gift. *kisses* Thank you again n' a million times again in addition to all the things I've said when you'd given this to me. I love you *kiss* You've made this V-day as special as it could be.
