Whoa, this painting has been a long time coming. I started it six years ago, although for the most part of the process it was a very bad portrait of Penelope Cruz. Yep, see the resemblance? Around New Years I had some sort of a fit and I ended up painting over poor Penelope and after three days and nights of unhealthy non-stop painting it had turned into the early stages of what it is now - a trippy elephant portraying my artistic freedom that had been suffocated for so long. It may not be perfect and it may cause nightmares to anyone who knows anything about proper painting technique (trust me, I don't), but for me it is something that needed to be done, something that finally set me free.
