Segùn cuentan las antiguas leyendas de Cimmerios y Nordheimers, hubo epoca en la que Ymir ,dios gigante de hielo, quiso conquistar Cimmeria, pero a èl se le opuso el dios Crom. El combate entre los dos dioses se prolongò durante varios dias , sin que hubiese un vencedor claro. Aquì es donde la leyenda difiere , los cimmerios dicen que finalmente Crom consiguiò expulsar al invasor a sus reinos helados del norte, y los Nordheimer aseguran que Ymir, impresionado por el arrojo y valor del que Crom hizo gala, le permitio conservar su reino, y que serian sus hijos los que se disputarian la supremacia en las tierras del norteRelated content

Beatifull picture! It really emanates with the "Hyperborean aura". This picure among other things (the "Riddle of Steel" from the movie, the fact the Crom may have only one eye in the Marvel comic version of Conan) started to form a story/theory where Crom killed Ymir and came to be known among the germans as Wotan/Odin. Especially that Howard's notes imply yhat the germanic people are the result of the Aesir, Vanir and Cimmerians mixingover the millenias(Celts are aparently purelly the Decesdants of Cimmerians), and the fact that Odin may have been originally a celtic deity(detailed here [link] )
