Description This is my model of the sniper rifle, Barrett M95. Done in Autodesk 3Ds Max 2010 with V-ray.

It's a quite simple studio scene actually. I've just put up a VRayLight on top of the model, and the screen you can see on the BORS is a VRayMtlLight. I guess the amount of subdivisions (65) and such play the big part of the lighting.

How is 3DS max when it comes to making curves and indentations? I use Maya and am trying to model a USP but the rounded part at the front of the slide where the rail goes in is killing me.

Well, this part was made out of splines. There are options to how many segments you want for the curves. Later when you feel that the spline looks all right, you transform it into an editable poly and proceed from there.
