oh cool!! I've always wanted a tablet pc, but I needed something more in my price range. I have a pavilion dv6447 laptop, and the awesome wacom intuos3 6x8 XDD lol
but what you got sounds like a bunch of fun too XD
Nice sketches btw, the baby orangutan in the bottom right made me laugh ^~^
Have fun norke!

Looks really good - and correct ... cute little bastards hehehe ...
So obviously I'm green with envy - is it like drawing on a piece of paper? I've heard stuff about lag with these things - but it doesn't sound like you've experienced any of that?

I always said that drawing on a Cintiq is just like drawing on retarded paper. This tablet is nothing better, but I love it. I feel much more comfortable sketching digital like this.

I thought you use Wacom? And photoshop! I cant believe such good pictures are produced in art rage!
I always use to be able to paint realistic flowers in it, but nothing better lol.

I normally use Wacom and Photoshop. But this tablet is only a few hours old. I just installed ArtRage and sketched these.

Did you have any issues calibrating the touch screen with the pen? I got a similar tablet PC a while back, and I've never been able to get the calibration quite right (being careful and following the calibration instructions), the cursor always ends up in a different spot on the screen than the actual tip of the pen (and it changes how misaligned it is depending on which part of the screen I'm on). Is this a problem you have encountered?

atmic In reply to Norke [2008-10-02 17:14:38 +0000 UTC]
Ahh, that's the trick! Thank you very much! That does help a lot, with the only downside being that I have to recalibrate every time I switch from working in portrait to landscape. But that's not a big deal, really.

Tablet PC, eh?
Do they have the pressure sensitivity stuff like other tablets? Or is it just a touch-screen with a pen? Though I guess it has to, cause I see varying opacity in your brush strokes.
Neat sketches too, the expressions are silly, and your crosshatching is very neat. I admire your patience with it.

very cool. I have been looking at some myself. Wonder if they are equivelent to the Cintiq??? I like to get as much as I can for my money. So if I pay $1200 for a tablet it better do more than just become a LCD monitor as well. Know what I mean?
Great sketch btw.

stalkier In reply to Norke [2008-10-02 16:21:44 +0000 UTC]
very cool. So do you think it is comparable to the Cintiq?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Norke In reply to stalkier [2008-10-02 16:22:37 +0000 UTC]
It certainly is.. I worked on both. You won't hear me say that a Tablet PC is better then a Cintiq, but for my purpose this is the best choice.

stalkier In reply to Norke [2008-10-02 16:25:57 +0000 UTC]
Awesome. Great to know. As far as a tablet PC being better than a Cintiq, I bet the Cintiq quality is better hands down. Also what size is the tablet PC you bought? (just wondering)

Excellent in any case...I was just wondering if the reflections on the screen was a problem if you were sketching outside.
