He looks up at the bats flying away, and reaches out quickly, catching one in his grasp. "I don't think that he's dead, but this should leave him partially injured." He crushes the bat into a puddle of blood in his fist, then opens his hand and lets it drain onto the pavement below. "That was nice work, there, Ami."

He turns to look at her. "Are you alright?" He walks over and crouches down slightly to look her in the eye, since he's taller than her. "It's not easy to do what you just did, even for someone like me." He places a hand gently on her shoulder.

"Well, in your case, the size difference and the difference in strength, since my kind naturally has more physical strength than humans. That's not a problem for you, though, because of your weapon having such a long range for you to attack from. For me, I'd be fighting with my bare hands like he was, due to this." He flexes his other hand, and his nails lengthen slightly into claws before he flexes it again and they go back to normal. "I would also be using my fangs, depending on what I was fighting. To be frank, I'm surprised he didn't." He stands back up and offers her a hand up off the ground. "However, in any event, the reason why it's not easy to do so for anyone, even my kind, is because were are similar to lycans in that regard: once we have prey, we tend not to give up unless we are severely injured or we decide it's not worth the chase."

"Well, you did almost kill him. That's why he turned into a cloud of bats. He was running away so he wouldn't die." He points to the puddle of blood. "That will prevent him from fully healing, though. What I did when I crushed the bat was basically permanently destroy part of his body. It's one of the few weaknesses of that form: if the bats are destroyed, you can't regenerate that part of your body, it's gone forever." He pulls her up off the ground lightly, then brushes her back off. "Well, you ready to go home?"

"We can stop by there on the way home, if you like. I'm not going in, though. Too bright." He turns to walk back into the street from the alley, then waits for her.
