'Everything you do must have immense purpose.'

This is the phrase that welcomed me into existence.

As a babe, a child, a youth, and a man, this has been my creed. Before I could say it. Before I could write it. Before I could understand it--my responsibility was made abundantly clear.

Every evening as night crept upon our territory, Mother would recite my purpose as she cradled my head in her soft, warm arms. The dark would bring a cool breeze into our cave, a temporary relief from the hot sands that rolled on outside. Her rough hands branched through my hair, cracked lips settling into a contented smile. Through her dry lips she sung of our history, my legacy. Once I found the other Sun, the elements would be properly restored again; the world would have seasons, the forests water, the wastelands snow. These were the words my eyes would close to every night.

The training was brutal. Once I could walk, there was no end to my activities--fighting, fasting, riding, hunting. These were the things I excelled in, they had a goal, an end, a limit. I could see the progress. They were easy to me.
The tests that truly pained me were the ones of a psychological nature. Isolation. Humiliation. I was celebrated, then shunned. I was loved, then abandoned.

I was not made to question my challenges, I was born to face them.

What kept me going was the other Sun. I was told that it was my duty to find them, protect them, and above all, love them unconditionally.

With this in my heart I plunged through years of pain, in stark anticipation to find them.

This simply takes my breath way. I already empathize with him and I need to hear his side.

Wow, I was SO EXCITED when I saw that this was what you posted! Wow. That's amazing. I love the title. And the picture, of course-- GREAT form of the Warrior. I love the back and especially the back of the neck and head. That's really impressive. And look at that hair! I also love the strange stalks/trunks framing him. And the story itself is really amazing too. Poor Warrior! I love the part with his mother in the cave, when she's telling him about what his purpose will be. The imagery of the two Suns bringing the elements back into place in the world is really cool.

It's interesting how unlike the Prince, he has something more keeping him going-- it seems like the Prince spoke more negatively of his experiences than the Warrior does here. So far, at least, the Warrior hasn't spoken like that because the other Sun kept him going.

It's great getting the Warrior's point of view, and always great to get another installment in this series. Beautiful!
