Description 2012.
...And that's why Nords don't like mages. Too self-sufficient.
Fan art for TES V: Skyrim, picturing Lydia the faithful Housecarl trying to take care of her Thane, my male Dunmer battlemage.

Spell reflection. Like all decent abilities, it is nice to have, but nasty once it's in the hands of the enemy.
Despite having a warrior, the destruction skill of my skyrim character is beyond OP. +50% damageΒ on all elements due to abilities, -100% magicka cost due to enchantment. Combine that with master spells and the only thing one needs to worry about is the time those spells need to charge.
I was speechless when I saw what happened to the first victim of the lightning spell (sorry, don't know the english name).

How is my little ramble helpful? Only possibilityΒ would be that you didn't know you couldΒ infuse the "lower magicka cost for spells of class X" enchantment on four parts of the equipment (helmet, ring, armor and amulet). Helps if you max out the enchantment bonus and have the skill at full power. If you have dual enchantment, you can even nullify the costs for two classes. With the skills and abilities IΒ mentioned above, each part should reduce the costs by 25% (theΒ cost reducer of the skill tree also reduces the amount of magicka you DON'T need to use, so that is useless).

Well, to be honest, I don't really see what your calculations have to do with the punchline of my comic, but it looks like you needed a forum for sharing your findings, so thank you for choosing me!

Well, the only thing regarding your comic was my first comment.
Then I got off-topic...
and then I thought I could tell the ones who didn't know that trick how it works to get a huge advantage (possibly early in the game, it took me a long time to try that out).

Poor Lydia wants to help so bad! I'm glad I rarely play as a mage! (more of a warrior/assassin guy myself)
Great work!

Lydia is pretty entertaining really, such as coming across a creepy mage mine and she says something along the likes of "This doesn't look too good." As well as when you heal Lydia once she can't fight anymore; "A healing spell? Are you a priest?" I also find it hilarious when I wake up at the breezehome and she says; "Life to you, my thane" And continues eating her bread at the table in my bedroom xD

The Skyrim followers and their antics certainly make my day more often than not.

Deffinately, but one time I went through a whole mine without saving, then I was trying to kill the boss dude, but Lydia went right in front of me and took my kill. She killed the boss, and for getting in my way I got a critical kill on Lydia and I was running around unsure what to do. So I went ahead and turned off the Xbox to go through the mine again...

Bear in mind that the dialogues in the comic were invented by me.
But followers really are fun! I just love how they react to different things you encounter, like 'This doesn't look good' when they see traps etc.

Awww, poor Lydia.

But, the way the Mage says everything, he seems like he says them in a nice gentle way C:

NorroenDyrd In reply to Entraya [2012-03-09 11:46:46 +0000 UTC]

I think there usually is a comment for a given type of location. I think J'Zargo would say something to me about caves, and Erandur about forts. And there may be specific comments for each city. I remember Lucien commenting on Riften from behind my back. 'A thief took my purse, and I took his eyes. Fair exchange'.

My Elder scrolls characters are usually the closest I can get to A Mage-Warrior-Theif class. They also all like to hug people. With the exception of one of my Oblivion characters, whom likes to pet people.

And actually, my character isn't married yet. Might as well be Lydia as anyone else.
