Description This is a free hand piece that was based on a Maori Design. Alot of these types of designs have meaning, so if there is anyone out there that can shed some light on the subject please feel free to hook up and let me know.

I nice Tatt...
The meaning depends on how, where and who had done it.. and it can also depend on what you want it to mean... it can be about where your from, history, family ties or all of the above.

But is a very very nice Design

The symbol means safe travels for those who move a lot as well as a symbol of good friends.

I would like one like that.

its a ta moko, they cn represent family trees mostly, about ur immedite family, and even the maori ansesters in their past. Or even a story about a journey that relates to their whanau (family)...

Hi Boffinll,

The tattoo took about 6 hour form start to finish as i had to draw the design on first with pen. Tanks for your comment and i hope its not to cold where you are today.

Very nice tat!
Yes it is Maori and called Kiri Tuhi (Compared to a Moko).
It is (so they say) an intrusion into the Maori culture if you have these placed by a non Maori ... but then again .. I feel that by adopting this style you don't show disrespect but you show great respect for their culture.

Just make sure you don't copy a design but create your own design using the style ....

Anyway .. Love it !

looks like a maori/tribal design... I dont know the meanings of this design... but possibly I could pass it onto an elder, see if they can tell me the story of the design..... it could even possibly have no meaning but all traditional tattoos usually tell a story either of history or legend
