hello, I just want to say that I really adore your art and how much it inspires me. It looks so cartoony yet realistic at the same time. I have one quick question to ask. How do you do the shading and coloring of your drawings? I think it's really unique and I was wondering what techniques you use.Β

I have a brush setting in Paint Tool SAI that helps me color like this. It essentially mimics an oil painting technique and texture. I scan my pencil sketch into my computer and pull up my art program, I paint on the darkest colors/shades first, then very gradually build up the lighter tones and highlights - just like you would with a traditional oil painting. Then I use a multiply layer to shade even further if needed, and spruce it up with other rendering techniques and details i.e. luminosity layer, Gaussian blur etc.Β

Beautifully done. I always felt she would be unsure of what to do as queen, but over time she overcomes her insecurities and becomes a decent ruler.
