Description Just a random idea, not even a headcanon or anything. Sabor from Disney's Tarzan and Makucha from The Lion Guard; being mother and son.

I know I'm dipping my feet into rapid fan territory of "Ermagerd! These two characters are of the same species...THEY MUST BE EITHER A COUPLE OR RELATED!" Not my intention, just having some fun with Disney ideas.
Makucha as an antagonist pales in comparison to the brutality and badassery of Sabor! But I thought it would be cute if Makucha learned how to be a persistent, dangerous prick from his mother!Β

I know Sabor's gender is somewhat debatable/ambiguous, but I've seen a few sources claim that Sabor is female, so I'm going with that.
I like to think Sabor had a soft side, she was a secondary antagonist (and a brutal one at that!) but she was just following basic instinct. She was only a villain from the standpoint of the Gorillas, to her; it was just a matter of trying to survive, possibly even trying to feed young. So I don't really think she deserved to die...I did when I was a child, I was like "YEAH, TAKE THAT BABY KILLER!" but you tend to think differently when you learn about nature.Β

Adorable, Makucha is badass is the TLG and a potential rival to Kion.. Imo she could fit to be more of a grandmother(since Makucha and his gang i think are not from the Pride Lands and her ) going by years after her introduction in Tarzan. but either way this is maternal beauty!

Sabor probably would have not been as picky as the regular villains in the Lion Guard and she probably would try to kill Kion and his Guard for food. She might even attack Kion if he was down or somehow was unable or unwilling to use his roar.

Tarzan: I've done a good deed by killing this abhorrent child and parent murderer.

Somewhere a little Makucha is worried why her mother hasn't returned.Β

Both Tarzan and Lion King take place in Africa, the only leopard native to Africa is the African Leopard so they must be the same species. Besides Makucha probably got his appearance more from his father then mother.

because at this point Sabor is pretty much just a name..

No, Tarzan is set in Eastern Africa, on the Eastern Coast; not on an island.

Sabor was at least 24 years old. Leopards in captivity rarely make it to 20. So yeah, it was definitely her time to go.

This would definitely explain where Makucha gets his bad attitude.

NostalgicChills In reply to MountainLygon [2018-01-17 06:42:28 +0000 UTC]

Where did you get that she was 24 years old? They never even mention her gender, let alone her age. Was it ever stated how old Tarzan was?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MountainLygon In reply to NostalgicChills [2018-01-17 07:33:22 +0000 UTC]

Tarzan is supposed to be about 20 during the main part of the movie (he's clearly at least 18 and not older than 25), and Sabor was already an adult when Tarzan was a baby. Leopards are considered fully independent adults at four years old. So Sabor would have had to be at least that old to be a proficient huntress, able to take down armed prey. So when Tarzan faces her himself, she's already ancient, giving him more of an advantage than her cunning and experience gave her.

Miltons-creations [2018-01-16 15:56:28 +0000 UTC]

I tried to search about Sabor's gender and it is never revealed in the movie, but the original novel makes her a female, but in Kingdom hearts Sabor is labeled as a male, so it is just going to be up to the fanartist (always considered her a female) which gender she is.

Lovely fanart, I kind of expected not to be the only one that considered the possibility that Sabor and Makucha were related (one way or another) to each other.

Actually there are several novels about Tarzan (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tarzan_(… ), but the Disney movie was based on the first one, "Tarzan of the apes" and in the book Sabor doesn't exist, that name is a generic term used by gorillas and it refers to lionesses (so it isn't even a single character, but a group). Obviously lions don't live in jungles, so the producers created this lovely lady, but the name (more details about its origin and meaning here --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabor_(T… ) wasn't changed.
