I survived a premature birth (26 weeks, wieghed 1.08 lbs), the doctors didn't think I'd make it but I did. I survived emotional/mental abuse and neglect, Mother thought I wouldn't last long without her and I'm proving her wrong every day in College.
I survived the trauma from her abuse and I'm studying to be a Social Worker, help those who are/were in my place.

Thanks, I'm planning to do so for middle/high school kids. I figured why not try to help these kids find something worth living for and set goals for themselves.

this is very true for me. i have been abused about being mentally ill and a lez for years. i have had signs of my locker that say "go kill yourself" and have had tacks thrown at me. but i am still here

I'm sorry idiots made fun of you for stuff you can't control. i was only made fun of for being a dyke, b/c I hid my illnesses. (fuck pills, my mom doesn't think i have insomnia, and I'm not telling my therapist about my OCD. only my pen-pal knows about my DID. bad enough having my alter leave when I started antidepressants, I'm working through my shit without chemicals)

would you mind explaining dyslexia to me? my mom says it's like words moving around on the page, but I just can't imagine it.
My OCD isn't very bad, just very noticable. symmetry and order, mostly. I've been arranging the candies in the check-out line as far back as I can remember

dyslexia is like i have trouble decoding the words. its like something gets lost in translation from my eyes to my brain (so i have trouble reading, rhyming, spelling) my OCD is just noticeable too. my desk had to be in perfect order before i can work and i freak out about germs

I beleive that more often than not that is the only way out is through and only option given to those of us unfortunate enough to suffer at the hands of society is to stand and fight your way through one more day of life. Being alive, against all odds is something to be proud of.
