I have nothing against braiding his hair, and he might let you do it if you ask nicely!
Annndd, no, in order to get the information he needs, he uses a transformation potion he invented. Like Noggenfogger's elixer, I think it's called. He often takes the forms of different races (mostly human) to get information (or test subjects) for his research regarding fel addiction and how to reverse the effects of withdrawal, since his wife is Wretched and he wants to cure her.
