Finding your soulmate was hard, especially when the only clue you had were the first words they said to you. Sighing in exasperation, you looked down at your forearm. What? Are you stupid or something?! it read. Wasn't your soulmate the sweetest? What romantic words... "Could make any girl swoon," you bitterly mumbled. You rose from the bench you were currently sitting on, beginning your journey home. The smell of fall was fresh in the air. You regretted not bringing a jacket for the evening chill. Rubbing your arms, you reminded yourself you had wasted yet another day. You could've stayed inside and relaxed rather than spending it searching for a soulmate you had nearly given up on. "I'm staying in next week," you mutter in defeat. You shuffled around the people bustling along the sidewalk.

You marched along by your lonesome self, eyes trained on your pathway. You just wanted to go home and forget your disappointment. Maybe you'd go get dinner with (f/n) to get your mind off things. Sighing, you pull your phone out of your pocket letting her know you were on your way home and asked if she wanted anything to eat. Keeping your eyes on your message, you turned into the alleyway on your usual route home. You notice the three dots moving, waiting for her reply.

Sorry, hun. I can't. I'm going out to eat with (guy's name). (Sad)

Groaning, you look at the sky. Just your luck. Today really wasn't your day. Hopefully tomorrow would be better. Thinking about what to do, you supposed you could revert to watching TV the rest of the night.

It's okay. We still have some left overs, right?

Getting a positive response, your mood lifts slightly. Maybe things would be fine by the end of the day. You'd get to watch some TV with your favorite food and sleep in the next day. Putting your phone in your pocket, you nearly exit the alley when an arm pulls you back. Yelping, you're thrown against a wall. A hand covers your mouth and a dirty face enters your field of vision. "Money. Now," he demands in a raspy voice. Oh today just keeps getting better doesn't it? Before you can respond, the man is on the ground and someone has a grip on your wrist. They quickly drag you away, out of the alley. "What? Are you stupid or something!?" he shouts at you.

By now, you were shaking with fear, trying to get out of shock. "W-wow, thanks! Definitely something everyone wants to hear after getting mugged!" you shout in return. His eyes widen at your words. A grin forms on his face as you give him a confused look. Without speaking, he rolls up his sleeves to show you his forearm. Wow, thanks! Definitely something everyone wants to hear after getting mugged! It read in your handwriting. Breath catching in your throat, you reveal your own arm, showing the written words.

In your shock, you hadn't realized he was your soulmate. He takes you in his strong arms, holding you tightly. "U-um..." you stutter. He pulls away quickly, apologizing. He raises his arm to the back of his head, blush dusting his cheeks as he apologizes. Woah, you thought, not only is he attractive, his arms were nice. "Nice to meet you," he grins.

His large grin makes you blush as you return his statement. "So..." he mumbles, looking from the ground to you, "Want my phone number?" You laugh at his timid attitude when he was yelling at you only moments ago. You nod, putting in your contact on his phone. "Stupid or something" it read in the contact name. You laughed at the stupid name you had typed in before handing it back. After he put his in your phone, he hands the device to you.

"Iwaizumi," he says, offering a hand. You gently take his hand in yours, "(Y/N)." When he pulls his hand away, you felt a lack of warmth you didn't realized to craved.

"I'd love to hang out, but I was actually on my way to help my friend out," he explains. You nod in understanding, telling him it was alright. After exchanging your goodbyes, he begins to walk away. Something pulls in your chest as he walks away, wishing he would stay. You turn your back, about to continue your journey home. "Oi!" his voice calls out, as if he had heard you silent wish.

You look over your shoulder to see his dark eyes watching your figure. A hint of teasing crosses his features before he yells, "I can trust you to walk home without getting mugged, right?" Rolling your eyes at his comment, you fully face him. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe some handsome hero will accompany me," you joke. He smiles, jogging to catch up to you. "Guess I'll just have to be that hero," he says.

You quirk a brow, offering a grin. "What about your friend?" you ask. He shrugs, walking beside you. Looking into your eyes, he smirks, "He can wait." You ignore the heat on your cheeks caused by his smirk and grin at his statement. Gently taking his hand in yours, you lead the way. "I suppose you're right, my hero," you wink. With a light blush, he laughs at your statement.

Looks like your night really was turning out for the better.
