"Liz is pretty cute, huh?"

Peter jumps out of surprise. He had been lost in his thoughts as he picked at his lunch. He coughs slightly, scratching at the back of his neck.

"Um, yeah, I guess," Peter mumbles, looking back at his food. Ned stares, studying him. Peter had been acting weird around him lately, but he wasn't sure why. However, before he can ask, he was interrupted.

"Hey, guys!" you chirp, sliding in across from them. Peter perks up at the sight of you immediately. A smile cuts across his lips slowly as he greets you excitedly. Ned simply salutes you in greeting. As you pick up an item from your lunch, you glance at the two guys in front of you.

"We're all still up for the movie night tonight, right?" you ask, raising an eyebrow. You quickly brace yourself for disappointment as you wait for a reply. The last few times you guys planned to hang out, Peter had cancelled last minute because of his Stark internship. To your surprise, they both nod.

"I might be a little late, but I'll be there," Peter explains with a mouthful of pizza. You grin at him, happy he was actually going to join you and Ned. You lean your head on your hand as you stare at him.

"Really? You aren't going to cancel last minute again? What a shocker," you tease. He shoots you a playful glare as he swallows his food. You both go back and forth with playful, snarky remarks as Ned glances between the both of you. A few minutes before the bell rang, you stood up and excused yourself. You had to get to class a little early in order to finish up a project. Ned and Peter wave to you as you leave. As you exit the cafeteria, Peter stares after you with a goofy grin. He's broken away from his thoughts when he's hit in the shoulder slightly roughly. His hand rubs his shoulder as he turns to Ned with a shocked expression.

"Dude!" he whines. Ned just stares at him blankly.

"Don't 'dude' me. Not after you've just flirted with (Y/N) literally all of lunch," he glares. Peter's eyes widen at the accusation.

"I wasn't- I- pfft. I wasn't flirting with her! Why would... Why would I do that?" he stumbles, eyes shifting to the side. Ned shuts him up with a single, pointed look. Peter stares at the ground and sighs defeatedly as they dump their trays.

"To be fair, it wasn't all of lunch. She left 10 minutes early!"

You plop on to the couch next to Ned in your favorite lazy clothes. He holds a bowl of popcorn and the remote. A pile of blankets sit next to you on the couch, along with an arrangement of snacks on the table. So far, you had been waiting twenty minutes for Peter to arrice. You both had been patiently waiting, but you were personally losing hope. You stare at the menu screen of the movie, shifting quietly. You glance at Ned, who is scrolling through his phone. You purse your lips, gently tapping your fingers on your leg. You sigh, getting up from your crisscrossed position. Ned glances at your as you go to refill your glass.

"Do you think he's even-" Your doubt is cut off with a knock at the door. You grin slightly and make your way towards it.

"Never mind," you swing to door open to reveal Peter, and playfully narrow your eyes, "You're a little late, Parker."

You let him in and he apologizes as he plops down next to Ned. Sitting next to him, you situate yourself comfortably and begin the movie. As the movie continues on, you fail to notice that you and Peter are slowly gravitating towards each other. You dully note that you're resting on his shoulder around the middle of the movie with a slight blush covered by the dark room. Neither of you seem to mind your coziness, but Ned sure did. Without realizing, he began paying more attention to the two of you than the movie. He wasn't jealous. It's not that Peter was a bad kid, he knew that if you two wound up dating Peter would treat you right. But, nothing could make him like the idea of you two dating.

"I'm gonna go get a drink. You two want anything?" you ask, rising from your comfortable spot regrettably. Both of the boys shake their head and you take your leave. Quickly, Ned turns to Peter.

"Dude, stop," he commands. Peter looks shocked at his words.

"Stop? Stop what?"

"Making moves on (Y/N)!" Peter blushes at the accusation. He wasn't even trying to. It just felt right. He had hardly noticed how close you had gotten throughout the movie. Peter stumbles over his words, trying to deny the fact. Finally, he sighs, giving up.

"Why not?" he pouts. He knew the answer as to why not, but he still asked. Peter really liked you; he had for a while now, but he hadn't told Ned. Ned might be his best friend, but this reaction was expected.

"Because she's my sister!" Ned whisper yells. Peter stares at him for a moment, trying to think of a counter argument. Nothing comes to mind. He couldn't tell if being Ned's adoptive sister was good or bad excuse as to be not allowed to date you. Peter looks to the ground, slightly sad look on his face.

"But I really like her, Ned," he whispers. Ned looks over at him. He feels bad getting in the way of the two of you. Putting himself in Peter's shoes, he realizes where he's wrong. Ned sighs, patting Peter's shoulder.

"Look, if you-"

"Hey, guys! What'd I miss?" Both the boys jump at the suddenness of your voice as you fall onto the couch. They stare at you, trying to think of what happened in the time you were gone. You pout, tossing kernels popcorn at them.

"Don't tell me you guys don't know! You jerks!" you laugh, "You were supposed to pay attention for me."

They laugh with you, apologizing simultaneously. As the movie drags on, you notice Peter trying to keep a short distance between you. You frown, but understand why. You may have overheard the pair of best friends arguing. Before you knew it, the movie was over and Peter had to head home. As you say your goodbyes at the door, you reach up and kiss his cheek.

"See ya later, Pete," you giggle. He stares blankly at you, mouth hanging open, absentmindedly waving goodbye. You skip out of the room before Ned can break out of his shock. You watch from behind your bedroom door as they slowly turn to each other. Peter shoots Ned a sheepish smile and receives a glare in return.

"DON'T KISS MY SISTER, YOU WEIRDO!" he shouts as he chases Peter out of the house.

"Oh sh- SHE KISSED ME! I DIDN'T KISS HER!" Peter tries to reason as he sprints away. You laugh, picking up your phone to send an apology to Peter. You knew Ned would get over your potential relationship once he realizes there's a possibility of Peter becoming his brother-in-law.
