The dollmaker stopped in his writing and smiled at her. "Do you know why I gave you the ability to calculate every possible outcome of an event?" The doll didn't answer immediately, feeling that he was about to tell her anyway. "Because there is always the possibility that it will be rainy one day." She faced the glass ceiling above them, the clouds high above moved by a wind they're never going to feel against their skin. Her voice was calm but firm when she replied at last. "Don't worry, even if the world around us falls apart, I will be there to shield you."
