Friendly façade – Always wearing a smile, he seems to be your average, carefree young noble. It’s not easy to tell what he’s really thinking and you won’t know if he’ll be your friend or enemy in the end.

Unorthodox – from time to time, he likes to break free from rules and even provoke others to do the same. Of course it’s never something that would cost him his spot (or head).

Sophisticated and reasonable – Of everything that he is, he’s a clever talker and has a reasonable mind. If he can do something to get himself or someone else out of a sticky situation, he definitely will.

Childish and playful – Claude loves to tease others, just to see how they will react without meaning further harm. On the either hand, however, he can be quite bratty when not getting what he wants and his playfulness gets a cruel touch.

Intellectual lazy ass – Of course he wants to be a good Duke, but after hours and hours of hearing out complaints he tends to get bored. He rather spends his time satisfying his thirst for knowledge or looking for somebody to play chess with (other activities are fine with him too).

Sarcastic humor – Claude tends to show this side when he’s bitter over something. Snide remarks will be the answer to anything asked to him (which are hidden well enough, when directed towards royalty).

History:
Sorry if it got all fairytale-ish, but it was fun to write like that XD

Once upon a time, there were an old duke and his duchess. The people loved them because they were very kindhearted and would always hear them out. But despite the happy life they led, they were missing an heir. No matter what they tried, they just couldn’t get children and in the end they even asked a witch for help. She told them not to worry and to look out on the next night, when it was raining heavily. Just like the witch said, someone knocked on the front door on a stormy night. When they opened up, no-one but a cradle was lying there on the floor. Inside the cradle was a small baby boy of a species they didn’t know, but they instantly fell for the little one and adopted him.

They raised Claude with much care and love, and hired the best teachers for him. He was a fast learner and excelled in every subject with flying colors, that they soon ran out of things to teach him. Just like that, he grew bored and because his physical condition wasn’t the best, he started to spend hours in his father’s library. Literature and arts soon became his passion and he started collecting them.

His parents of course, became older and weaker with time and Claude had to fill in their spot. Still inexperienced and only been around books most of the time, Claude wasn’t able to cope with the job of a Duke. However, he didn’t want to let his parents down, who did everything for him although he wasn’t their real child. Their fortune had also shrunken bit by bit with the expenses he made with his collection. Making use of all the things he learned and the help of a trusted advisor, he managed to restore his family’s name and fortune.

But the tragedy didn’t end with that. Claude had the feeling that his advisor was starting to act strange and hired someone to spy on him to get evidence. It came out that the advisor really planned to get rid of the young Duke and long story short, the traitor was exposed and chased from the lands. Since then Claude is taking more part in the life outside of his library and choosing the people he trusts wiser.

Extra:
Although he does understand humor, he won’t tolerate it if someone’s trying to take advantage of him or patronize him.

Claude has a weak spot for pretty and cute people, no matter the gender. But as soon as they start bitching on him, he either shoves them aside or teases them even more.

His body’s weaker than his mind; that’s why he gets sick easily and doesn’t do well at physical competitions. And he is a picky eater, so there ain’t much muscle underneath his clothes.

He floats most of the time and uses his psychic abilities to get by in his everyday life.

When he stands near a person, he can communicate with them telepathically and even hear their thoughts. But it gets on his nerves easily so he usually shuts that off. And some things you just don’t wanna know
