I've never watched this show, (perhaps I should) but does Randy have a romantic interest in the show or is it a typical "crush on the popular girl"? Which could work...I mean, in AD:JL, Rose(?) was popular but she wasn't mean (like Paulina) and the reason there were issues was because she was a huntress.

I’m pretty sure rose became a big deal in later plot lines. A massive plot twist makes her life and Jakes a whole lot more complicated. That’s all I can say without going into spoiler territory.
Btw, I’m totally on that side of the fence that thinks Teresa and Randy should have had more screen time. The story really could have benefited from a more mature plot and making Teresa could have led to some interesting situations for Randy. Having her find out about his secret as a Ninja would have put Randy and Teresa in great setups for character growth. Randy, Howard, and Teresa are pretty much all weirdos, just in different ways. Wouldn’t it have been really cool seeing the three of them going on adventures just like Danny and his friends did in their show?
Sadly that never came to be.
