Lucario is the reader of all that is aura. The Pokemon senses the very force that gives it life. In the generally unseen world of Neon Blue Aura this is no death, but renewal.About three weeks ago, I drew this simple sketch of Lucario in what basically looks like a generic battle pose. But what I tried to do in this photo (which I hadn't particularly done with my other works) was creating an art style similar to that of my all-time inspirational Lucario artist "Kinglom" (Here's his FurAffinity, www.furaffinity.net/user/kingl… go check it out.) Merely weeks before I joined dA in May 2012, I fell in LOVE with the drawings he did of Lucario. (Yes, they were indeed yiff-o-graphic.) But what stuck me the most was how perfectly show accurate he drew Lucario's! I've wanted to draw like him ever since. And in this photo I REALLY tried hard to mimic that style. I hope I did well.
Everything you see in this photograph was done completely by me. The color, the shading, the effects in the background (which resemble Aura), even that shaded out rock the Lucario is standing on! I hope you guys like this photo! I really gave 110% to it and I had SO MUCH FUN DOING IT!!

Well, first of all, I absolutely LOVE this piece! By far my favorite of your artwork! (Which is really saying something!)
I think you deserve a very good score since this is definitely something new to you, and you pretty much nailed it!
I will let you know that to me, five stars means its one of the best art pieces ever created.
I gave this four stars for vision, because the Lucario fits so perfectly with its background, and his position was well thought.
I gave this three stars for originality, because I have seen many things SIMILAR, not the same. The name really bumped up your score there though! It sounds like something I would come up with after a long thought.
The technique was given four stars because again, this is not something you normally do, yet it still came out very, very well! I would personally love to see more art like this from you in the near future if possible!
Now, for the best part, in my opinion. Imact. This piece, with the name, the art style, and the technique change really has an impact! You kept Lucarios style different than the background, yet they blend together. Somewhat like black and white. Or red and blue, in this case.
I apologize if this critique is a bit strange compared to the others... I will remind you that I can be a very harsh grader. Especially when its a good friend, because I want them to have full honesty!
But yes, my favorite of all of your pieces. If this was just some random art off google images, I would make it my background. But its made by a friend, and that would make me feel as if I was pretending it was mine...

All right, here's my critique:
VISION: It's clear that you had a certain idea in mind. A certain pose, a certain stance, and a certain look of determination on Lucario's face. But the picture intelligently leaves much to mystery. Who is he facing? Why is he facing them? Just what is going down in here? The possibilities are many.
ORIGINALITY: It's hard to be original with a Lucario, since at this point, almost everything has been done to death with him. However, his pose and stance is not something often seen in Lucario pictures. The look of determination in his eyes is familiar though, if only because we know how much of a badass Lucario already is!
TECHNIQUE: Again, as stated before, I really like the pose and stance of Lucario. The way his aura sensors/dreadlocks wave in the air kind of makes me think that a wave of air is blowing past him. I also love the purple aurora in the air around him, as if some sort of supernatural event is going on. Auroras aren't easy to do, but you made a great job of it here.
IMPACT: This picture sort of has a 'blow you away' look to it. Just everything about the positioning and the aurora makes me really want to think that he's facing some sort of foe. And that look of determination in his eyes just says, "I'm ready for this. Either he goes down... or I go down."
So, in all, I really do love this picture. I possibly admire it even more due to sitting down and critiquing him, seeing all of the details and depth put into this picture. The only thing that really sticks out to me is his left arm (right arm from the viewer's perspective). It just seems bent rather oddly, as well as the hand appearing to also be bent in a weird way, like I can't really tell how the hand is supposed to bend. But these are just minor complaints, really.
As for the TL;DR version: awesome and epic.
