Description

Wanted to have this out yesterday for Labor Day, but it took a little longer than I thought. Just a map I made of my first game of Victoria II (Paradox, Vic III plz) as Japan. I thought since I hadn’t done any mapmaking in a while I might as well make this. I also wanted to see how long it would take me to make a map of this size. Hopefully a new map will be out soon though. Hoping to also make a mod for HOI4 set in this universe, we'll see though.

America: The Americas has had a surprising amount of Socialist/Communist revolutions, and the Socialist Party has won the latest election in the US. Despite this, a few anti-communists have made stands against the ideology, such as in the Republic of El Salvador, where a dictator took over the fair republic to protect them from the nearby Socialist Central American Provinces. Brazil has also been immune to these movements, and has instead had imperialist movements, wishing to spread Brazil from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Canada has also fully broken away from the UK, and has instead aligned themselves with the US.

Africa: Africa remains mostly under control of European imperialists, with only the extremely unstable France granted some of their colonies (Algeria, Madagascar) independence. The Cape Commune has also gained full independence from the UK, after a communist revolution occurred in the early 1900s.

Europe: Europe is mostly divided into 3 separate blocs; The Central Democratic Alliance, the United Worker's Republics, and the Communist International. The CDA is made up of three constitutional monarchies, the German Empire, the UK, and the Kingdom of Italy, the victors of the First Great War against Austria and the Ottoman Empire. The UWR is an alliance of communist/anarchist dictatorships recently emerging in Europe, mainly the French Workers' Commune, the Dutch Republic, and Revolutionary Portugal. Although they are communist, they distance themselves from the Comintern. The Comintern was founded by the USSR after a communist revolution following their defeat in the Second Great War against China and Japan.

Asia: With the Japanese Empire declaring a campaign to rid the East of European imperialism, many nations of Asia joined their cause. China, although at first being an enemy of Japan, put aside their rivalry when Russia invaded, and Japan and China united their forces to drive back the Russians, eventually taking Moscow. British control of India was significantly weakened by Sino-Japanese occupation in the Second Great War, and India declared its independence shortly afterward. The Indian royal family was seen by the Indian people as a British puppet however, and a civil war quickly broke out, ending in a victory for the ultra-nationalists, who formed the Imperial Bharat State, annexing all other smaller kingdoms in India. Asia is mainly characterized by its strong sense of unity against Europe, and is home to many ultra-nationalist, pan-Asian, and fascist movements.

Oceania: All of the Pacific is controlled by Japan, who secured their supremacy in the Japanese-American War. Australia and New Zealand also joined with the anti-Europeans in Asia in their campaign in anti-imperialism, resulting in a free nationalist government taking over in those nations. They are seen as Japanese puppets by the rest of the world.
