Despite her age, Mei is very mature and professional. Being part of the royal family, she was taught from early years on a wide variety of topics. She grew up to be quite clever and really good in elocution. She was a calm kid, very obedient most of the time-- but she was also curious and had a knack for adventure. Her gentle and courageous personality was a mix of her parents’ personality, her dad who was once a famous hunter, and her mother who was a brilliant herbalist.

Mei can be kind and motherly toward others as part of her feminine nature. She is polite, dainty; she has manners and rich culture. You can find her to be of particular and exotic tastes along a liberal mind, something not so appreciated coming from a conservative family of old traditions. While fulfilling the basics of a ‘fine lady’ according to society around important people, she takes interest in ‘unfitting’ hobbies for a noble-- such as archery, hunting and smiting, fostering a fierce and bold personality. This side of herself tends to come out as a kind of bossy but focused.

Being able to balance both of her natures, she turned out to be a benevolent person who seeks out for her country. She is cunning when it comes to reaching a goal for everyone’s welfare and creative with solutions. Nonetheless, she isn’t perfect and tends to have a hard time when it comes to taking other’s opinion in consideration or tolerating their ideas. Her short temper and waving emotions are also a big problem that gets in the way when taking serious decisions. It’s hard for Mei to accept her mistakes and ask for help, but she knows when to give in.

Mei Xing was born to the royal family with the emperors in an advanced age. The pregnancy was difficult and risky, but in the end everything went right. Still, they were utterly surprised when they discovered they had a daughter. For an unknown reason, the royal family had always had a male heir-- their single child. Breaking that old tradition, Mei’s birth was seen as a bad omen. Nonetheless, her parents kept her and raised her like any other noble child-- except for sports and combat matters.

Although Mei was respected for being part of the royal family, she could always notice the people talking to her back and staring at her from afar. She grew up being conscious of people looking down on her for being a girl, labeling her as an infeasible heir to the throne. Instead of resenting their silent behavior, this only encouraged Mei of doing her best to prove them wrong.

Mei was pretty close to her father, she always followed him around even during work hours. She tried her best to learn about this business and so, she has been involved with most of the leaders, guards and important people of JingLong since little. She met most of the Leaders council member’s years before, but some she knows from even way back. Being curious and adventurous, she used to try and escape her own guard’s and babysitters. She would succeed sometimes and try sneak out of the palace to wander around the town. In one of her adventures she came across who would become nowadays Bun’s leader, when he saved her from serious trouble. She also met the actual Sweet’s leader when they were kids, as his father the Emperor would often call for the family’s business.

Today, Mei looks forward to take on the throne. She hopes that the relationships she formed and her hard work to date incite people to trust her and her aptitude to rule over JingLong, looking for a brighter future for their countries with the collaboration of all leaders.
