I'm happy that you feel that way bout my pics hon well actually new England can be like your homeland but I'm thinking winters could be cold n snowy here but I guessing that homelands winter is a bit longer and somewhat colder than ours here... I once watched a show on public tv that was filmed in your homeland .. it was an interview with an older women who taught younger women how to make traditional winter boots, hats, and gloves with the skins she had hanging in her yard I think they may have been deerskins .. I could not believe the beautiful intricate colors and designs the hats and boots had ...the woman was upset that most younger girls have no interest in making clothing in the old traditional way and fear's the art will be lost to time ... I loved the work she did tho, to be honest, I feel that many of these designs remind me of the American native Indian designs particularly Alaskan natives ... I found her very interesting Liisa
thanks again dear

Sorry it has taken so long to respond, sounds like they are Sami people who live in the Lapland, they wear the most beautiful and colorful costumes. My sister lives in Lapland, she worked as a Social Worker there, now she is retired.
I was there once when they had their yearly Reindeer roundup, that was really a wonderful experience!!!
They raise the reindeer for the meat, which is delicious to eat.
I think the winters in Finland are about the same as they are in new England, cold and snowy!

deer meatloaf is awesome too
. pay attention to your local PBS tv station cause they will most like show this program there too ...I'm sure you'd really love seeing home again
