Looking at this brings to mind what you mentioned about all the black smoke that was in the area back when the furnace was still in use.. And, it just looks so obviously out of place around all that greenery. .. never meant to be there.. I'm glad it's no longer used.

yes so am i ..i read that the owner from here that went to England to secure the rights for steel making and moved operations to Pittsburgh was asked why he did that and took all these jobs away from here said ."that he loved this part of ct. and did not want to completely destroy it good for him thanks Linda
