There's something about the atmosphere of this piece that really catches my attention. It's so dark and foreboding, and should really be almost creepy, but I just love how it's not. It's kind of like the calm before the storm, and in the calmness, it just looks like a peaceful little coastal village. I really love the detail, too. It looks and feels very realistic.
