Just the finished speedie.I made a few ajustments, think it looks much better now.
[EDIT: Just reloaded it with a new version. I'ts a bit darker, and they way it's supposed to look. The contrasts, especially in this piece deff makes a difference when comparing both versions with each other..]

I've actually read a book called "Gray Ghost" about a horse. xD It was in 6th grade and a I barely remember it.-- Lovely job. I still enjoy this piece a lot. The ghost-like essence is... fantastic. I'm really starting

I love how you have defined certain parts of the horse to still make it look like a horse, very ghostly and eerie looking.

Yepp, no refs has been used what so ever, I like to work freely from my head as much as I can.
I think that you can learn so much more by learning to paint by using your memory(beside hours and hours of observing and studies of course), in that way you get to know and understand how anatomy and such works, and you never have to feel the need of copying something or find the right ref to do so.

that's true. horses can be so difficult sometimes, certain parts from certain angles can be really hard to get down from memory. which is why I find this admirable
