Created out of clay by her mother, Hippolyta, Diana grew up surrounded by a legion of sisters and mothers, being taught in the ways of the Amazon and eventually, becoming one of the islands' greatest warriors. Living peacefuly among the other amazons, Diana's life changed upon the arrival of US. Pilot, Steve Trevor on the island.

Being this the first and only time a man had placed a foot on the island, the Amazons were mostly suspicious. Interrogating him as per to know of his come-uppance, Trevor revealed he had been on a mision for SHIELD investigating upon a cult which seemed to have access to other-wordly abilitties, the 'Worshipers of Ares'. Believing this could lead to the return of Ares, whom had previosuly attempted to destroy the Amazons, a tournament was setted up as per to decide who should go with Trevor to Man's World as an embassador of Themyscira and help dismantle the cult.

Despite having been forbidden by her mother to enter the contest, Diana took a part of it and eventually, won. At the end, Diana was given an armor modeled after a great warrior from the past whom had helped the Amazons. Alongside with the armor, Diana was also given the Lasso of Truth, forged by Hephaestus, the Bracelets of Victory and the Sandals of Hermes.

Now on Man's World, Diana has allied herself with Trevor, his comanding officer and Director of SHIELD, Nicholas Fury, deputy director Amanda Waller and special agent Etta Candy on her quest to take down the cult, working on secrecy. However, after a mission in which the cult had seemed to have invoked Phobos and Daemos, sons of Ares, on the world, Diana's identity became publi, being given the name of 'Wonder Woman' by the press not long after.
