Description *gasp* Traditional art!? Yes, this is partly for practice and partly for experimentation.
Part of the reason why I mainly do digital art because my hands are embarrassingly very shaky. While I do not use stabilization, being able to tune the proportions on my tablet can help smooth out my movements, given some specific techniques.
I've really wanted to try traditional again because sometimes you're out and about without a computer, and you got to create art. At some point I'll probably push to just pencil sketches, as carrying around my cheap color pencils is not convenient. (Drew it last weekend since I'm on business trip right now...)

Overall, I had such a fun time working on this piece. Even though I seemed to have transferred my methodology in shapes from digital art, my techniques obviously did not. And with a somewhat limited medium, I really had to get creative and adapt, which made it a whole lot more fun and relaxing. I did learn that inking with a ballpoint pen sucks.
Of course I'd like to do more of these in the near future (I'm looking at you, Ilynalta ;3 ). The mere fact I now have some physical inspiration to look at is very appealing. And hey, it took just 2-3 hours.

Shoutout to Ilynalta for kicking my dumb butt out of my comfort zone. She's quite motivating that way ^w^~<3

I'm so sorry for being so late to comment this >.< I apologize again and again... I'm really busy with a lot of unexpected stuff to deal with atm, but that's not an excuse for my behaviour. Β
It's so nice to see you trying traditional art! It looks pretty neat and you found the perfect colours for Melodia <3 I think you could try to... *tries to find the good words in English but can't x3* You know, color "harder", with darker lines on the pencil to create contrasts (especially on the hair), but I understand it's not always easy with cheap pencils (that's also why I don't draw with pencils, I can't use cheap ones and good ones are too expensive for me x3).
Maybe next time use a completely white sheet of paper (I know some people already said it but I'm sure you can be confident even with traditional, you're really doing a great job <3) xD

Ahaha, it makes me so happy x3 I can't wait to see more traditional, and of course digital art from you, as always, keep it up, because it's great <3

It's ok, no worries! I wasn't demanding some response from you, just wanted to let you know I've tried some traditional art too :3
Even though I don't have that many colors, it took me forever to find these for Melodia. It's really quite interesting given that digital I can just tweak the color to whatever I please.
I absolutely agree. My excuse is that it was very late at night and I did not want to scrounge around in the dark looking for a manual pencil sharpener. Though, I would expect that the average color pencil set would be cheaper than other equivalent medias. (idk but just thinking about all the real colors I could get is exciting)
Yes next time I will, really on the other side I was doodling to get the feel and try to loosen up. I got frustrated so I just jumped the shark to sketch all of it, and I was not planning on coloring.
I can't wait to try traditional art too. It's so touching to still receive support even through my experiments. Thanks as always! <3

Oh boy, traditional art-- and on the most premium, cutting edge paper there is :^)

Traditional art is hard-- the lack of a Ctrl+Z can be really frustrating, as well as basically everything else about it. But you did a real nice job on this! Melodia has a cute face~

The paper costed me a fortune because of its secondary function of providing a gridspace. Thank goodness I had it laying around or else I might not have been inclined to exploit its advantageous features.
Suprisingly, having no undo option was liberating and I was more careful in adapting to the medium. Heh, but I was still frustrated with my shaky hands not making anything easy. Thanks for the support! <3
...Melodia deserves a cuter face, I'll have to tweak my cute levels a bit.

Your experimentation is really promising for the future !!! o.O This will not be the simplest, but you have the talent to succeed
I confess that I hoped you would, and may be later, propose this type of art ???
I dream of receiving a traditional work done by you Β Β Β It would be really fabulous, it would find without problem its place among the others ^^
Look forward to seeing more designs like this ! and hoping that your business trip will go smoothly

So promising, maybe I can get more colored pencils too ^w^
I think it's really neat to offer traditional, but I feel a sort of obligation that the other person ought to keep it. Obviously that's a logistic nightmare, and I doubt I will have the opportunity to visit some venue to give them out in person. Maybe I'll just stick to making them for myself. (I might make exceptions for close friends)
I absolutely want to continue this, and maybe find a way I can bring them on my travels more conveniently.

Oh yes, that would be fantastic ^^
It's true that if you must send in some countries, this will not necessarily be easy, and the cost of shipping will probably be high... (This does not prevent the applicant from paying
I know that in Europe this is simpler. I have already received drawings from Poland, Germany, Belgium without problem (I expect one from Portugal too ^^) From United States, to see, but that would be really nice !
I encourage you to continue on this project and I look forward to seeing new designs ^^ (If you make a business trip in France, do not hesitate to contact me !! xD )

Precious artwork!

Your next attempt deserves to be on a blank white printing paper rather than on a pad! C; Also shoot it with enough light : P

Appreciate the traditional approach!

Heh heh, thanks.
Yeah, I just did not have enough confidence to try on a nice sheet of paper. And I'll think about using a scanner next time :3
