Random project 1: FINISHEDSo currently (from 3 weeks ago) I'm in the needing of trying different things And this is one of the things I did.
1 layer doodle colored practicing color theory thingies o3o (I made it super tiny so you won't notice all the messy lines BD)
CCSakura was one of the very first animes I watched o^o
I really needed to make a tribute to it. I just came across a post on tumblr of Sakura with this maid outfit I didn't remember and I felt inspired That's all o3o/ Hope you like it.

Acabalo pronto Babs, este anime es de la vieja escuela y vale muchísimo la pena. Con decirte que hasta hoy dia a una amiga mia que es bastante anti-otaku, que tiene mi edad, sigue *3* con CCSakura, te digo todo uwu~
Y sí, el cabello está mas claro XD Es por el tipo de coloreado, tenía que verse luminoso ~°3°~

Out of the series from CLAMP, my favorite is xxxHOLiC~ It has a really mysterious vibe to it and plays on Japanese mythology a lot~

Never saw it b4. I only go to the bookstore once in awhile or once in a year then whenever one my graphic novels I want is there, it's not. And you can blame it on my mom because she hates driving on M59/Hall Road! Now if you excuse me I have to check the monitors, it gets lonely at work.

Sakura wore this outfit in season 3 of the anime/ the latter half of manga, if my memory serves me correctly. They had a festival at her school and her class was running a cafe. Anyway, it's great to randomly spot CCS fanart in the DA fanart category 
*sigh*, I'd LOVE to buy this series on DVDs but even the newly published Australian DVDs are ridiculously expensive (and that's even without counting all the customs charges D: ). And yet it is a series that I consider as "the best shoujo anime I've ever seen" and therefore it's a must have ;_;!

well, I have really blurry memories about it except for some very specific episodes XD
And what you say actually sounds legit. I mean, what's an institute anime without that day where "the class of the heroine has to make a thematic thing in the classroom for the school's festival"?
It is also not too sappy like Sailor Moon, Tokyo Mew Mew etc. The first notable thing that separates CCS from your average magical girl series is that her spells aren't just ridiculous combinations of random English words that only sound cool to Japanese viewers (and just ludicrous for the rest of us). Instead, she first chants her prayer and then yells the card's name (though it's kinda funny how "fiery" is actually written as "firey" in the series). The other, more important thing is that the whole love theme is handled way more thoroughly and natually than in any other series of its genre. The viewers aren't constantly being told about how important it is "to love someone, yadda yadda yadda". No, instead were shown all kinds of love without the unnecessary preaching. The love Sakura feels for her family, the love she feels for her friends, her first crush on Yukito, the love she starts to suddenly feel towards Shaoran...
And as for the romantic love, I'm surprised that the anime version only altered the whole teacher/his student to be just onesided (it was mutual in the manga...kinda creepy when the student's just a fourth grader) and removed Tomoyo's direct implication about feeling "different kind of love" towards Sakura. But other than that, they left the rest of the relationships intact. OMG, they're showing GAYS in a G-rated series, what's the worlds coming to D: ?! *sarcams*
And because of these things -the lack of saccharine atmosphere, good characterization (sans Yukito, he's boring as hell) and subtle way of getting its message across-, I definitely agree that CCS deserves to be owned on DVD.
