Now I can see why I liked the second one better; I agree with Christian, there was just too much going on in this one and I think the best thing of the newer one is that long cross shadow.

This is even more amazing than the first version, and all the shadowing on Optimus makes it more darker emotionally, which I guess is what you're trying to convey- you've succeeded. It also adds due attention to him, something that was a little lacking on the first version. And thanks for not deleting the first version, keeping it allows for comparisons. Well done!
