SO I WANTED A NEW DESKTOP. I haven't painted in a FUCK LONG TIME [try almost two years since I graduated highschool!] so I decided since Denny is ON ME ABOUT LOMBUTTS; why not do two things I never paint. Backgrounds, and ships.I think both turned out gorgeous and I learned a lot of tricks to Sai so lets see if I do any more paintings in the future :J
Sorry there's so much lombuttery in my gallery but hey - it's my gallery and if I'm gonna have junk food art in it? I'm gonna have all the junkfood art.
But yeah. Alister and his ship we're calling Perihelion ;U; I had AMAZING loads of fun doing this the two or three days I have <3! I liked leaving the sketchy look too, trying to get use to doing that more often ;U;
SO YEAH THIS HAPPENED.

Aww this is awesome. I agree with , it's always so nice to see pictures like these in the groups. I love the background, you are amazing at them and you say you don't do them enough? *dies with noodle arms in the air*

But no I don't do backgrounds often... last time I really set out to do them was in 2008 or whatever when I did my AP college art pieces haha or something XD I just don't ever make time for them, but here we are.

Amazing job, love your style. It doesn't aim for 'realism', but instead it represents your own style. Realism mixed with something of your own. The many details of your drawing is presentable and your hard work is showing off. It looks really good, I love the way you colored it, it isn't fluent, giving it a more traditional style.
Now if I may ask, what program did you use for this? - If you were making any more of these kinds of drawings, I'd like to see something like this in a city setting

It's funny how often people compare my digital stuff to traditional, given that I'm a traditional artist at heart haha *neck rub* ;U;!!
But wow thank you ;; <3 I do try for a semi realism with this twist of mine that keeps it from being FULL ON realism haha it's what I really love about my work ;u; a buh buh buh thanks so much for that compliment gosh.
As for the program; Paint Tool SAI is my BABY of all programs.
If I do anything else I'll have to see about a city setting! I've never done a city background seeing as I rarely make time for backgrounds *___* I'll take that suggestion into consideration my fine friend!

I've seen some of your artwork lately in the group, and it has been pretty darn great. But THIS? Wow, it really blew me away and now I shall force myself to comment 
But this is really nice. I like seeing this sort of art from the R&C fandom; with full coloured backgrounds, nice details, the artists own cool style and some great shading too! Love how you draw Azimuth, but what caught my attention most is how you done his ship! I struggle with those things, especially doing them at your own angle too. But you got it done very well. Liking the rest of the background too, even that lil cave over there with those lights 8D
Definitely gonna chuck this one into the featured folder

Hahahha and yeah I.... I really enjoy the style of the game but I mean - fanart in the style of the source material is boring to me. I love seeing it MADE THE ARTIST'S OWN. I always call it STYLE MARRIAGE when you mix your style with the source material haha so I'm glad I keep finding these solid middle grounds with R&C stuff ;u;!!
I'm really proud of the ship actually too! I got more excited as the drawing continued on because I never draw mechanical things and I want to do more ;u;
