Hope it's not too dark.For years I've never seen this movie, still haven't, but I have WORSHIPPED the work of H.R. Giger, he is one of my...if not my favorite artist of all time.
OF ALL TIME.
I think this definitely hit a new high for my artistic self esteem. *__* took about 4 hours but overall not bad, no base sketch, two references from the Alien art book I found and a bucket full of "LETS TRY TO DO THIS FINALLY!"
Giger's characters or style PERIOD is something I wish to do an homage to someday. It's also one of those things high up on a shelf where I tell myself "Someday you'll draw fanart for it." If it's worth doing, it's worth doing RIGHT.

I agree with your artist statement, and i have to say that i think that even Mr. Giger would agree with me when i say you did well, this is a brilliant peace that really should get alot more views, truely a work of art

This is absolutely beautiful. Stunning. The post is fantastic. The curve of the body, the arms, the fingers and tail are place perfectly. I've love the alien series, for the great design and this captures it wonderfully. The background completes the masterpiece; PERFECT contrast and evokes a real sense of beauty yet, danger within the creature. Definite fave

the background is really cool. it's kind of a dainty pose for the aggressive nature of the character, but the character design is right on point. it really looks fantastic. one thing that's bothering me about it is the blurry outside edge...the details within the body are crisp and clear, but the outermost edge is blurry for some reason. other than that, this is SUPA FLY! you should see all 4 Alien movies. the 4th isn't AS good, but still, it's Alien. Alien vs Predator doesn't count lol.

Haha it is rather dainty huh? XD Originally I was going to have some Giger-esque stuff going on in the background so I decided it'd be build into the architecture like he usually does with figures - we see that didn't happen <__<;

And haha I keep hearing how aggressive Alien is, guess it's different when you see an animated versus painted creature XDD

i figure, in comparison to other alien movies, these are the bomb. because they are not like your standard sickly, humanoid aliens that abduct you and do experiments on you. these are the most cutthroat, ruthless, aggressive aliens in cinema. in that regards, i feel like they are quite good. i would watch the other 2 just to know how the series ends. it's worth it.
