I'm joking, but seriously, this is great!

How is your art so perfect ;w; The style is so perfectly rough, simple yet detailed, like, I don't even know how you do it. All I know is I love it <3

I tried doing things in a rush so it turned out very rough, but then i kinda liked it, so i didnt make an effort to refine it, since it was supposed to be a broken will anyway. Im glad you love it! <3 Means a lot, Lylia! Neo told me you're obsessive about Will too. We must talk.

Yes, I think we do It's gotten to a point where I get the urge to hug all the tousled brunettes with stubble and a sad look in their eyes that I meet on the street. You'd be surprised how many of them I see on a daily basis ahkdsf /obsessed mind
I'll try and get on Skype in the evenings and we shall discuss

Another fantastic example of why I want to favorite your entire gallery. Seriously, great job. Mirrors are always perfect tools when focusing on a person's psyche.

Yes, I definitely agree. I love Will's opinion on eye contact also and I've been meditating on it a lot lately. I feel like sometimes people get uncomfortable staring at themselves or other people because eyes are window's into true intentions, sort of the clarity behind the fogged mirrors of our bodies that can lie to people and tell them that we are healthy, happy individuals. I think there is a level of uncertainty in all of us and we are afraid to see the flaws in ourselves and others, so sometimes we just look away to respond because making eye contact for even a second can be unbearable.
Eyes have always spoke a great deal to me and are usually what I spend the most time drawing when I draw something that contains them because if my characters have a secret to hide, I want it to show somehow in their eyes and I will literally spend hours trying to get that right. Anyways, I feel like that idea works with this piece too, because Will is making eye contact with himself, he is breaking that barrier of eye contact he hates so much with the person he is most uncomfortable with; himself. That speaks a great deal for the psychology within this piece and within the show itself. The show is all about sitting right next to the things we fear most about ourselves and others and confronting them.
Although, if you have ever read "Red Dragon" or seen the movie, you know how this ends for Hannibal and Will.

i think its funny that on the first ep Will says he's bothered with eyes because he keeps thinking "are his eyes jaundiced?" and then on ep 10 he remembers georgia so clearly as a jaundiced crazy girl because he stares into her eyes.. hehe
the show is also about sitting right next to the things we fear most and NOT seeing them at all hahaha it's all about expectation and slight of hand. If you're not prepared to see something, if you're not paying close attention to the subject, you'll let the magician make you believe that he's really flying or that he is just a cooking enthusiast and not a cannibal...
anyway, as far as the series is straying from the book, i'm sincerely hoping season 1 ends with Will checking himself into a mental institution haha that would be a nice pull back to the book. I've read it and I watched the movie, altho the movie pales in comparison.

Movies always fail to meet the allure of the book though. I definitely wish the movie focused more on Will and Hannibal's relationship but, of course the focus was the Red Dragon case itself. However, I do hope we get an epic scene of Will's final realization of his so-called savior because I do think the movie did fairly well with that scene, even though it was shorter than I liked.
I definitely agree, it is a double-edged psychological story. It's the most extreme situation of being blinded and then able to see with horrible clarity. It does really hurt that Hannibal uses Will in the way he does, especially if the show is to go with the original story in that aspect but, it's also extremely smart of him. I would expect nothing else from him but to take an injured deer and make them out to be the one with the horns. It's easy to convince the mentally unstable that they are the guilty ones. My favorite thing about the show is focusing on the psychology though and that's always been my favorite thing about Hannibal's character and it's why Silence of The Lambs is such a beautiful film.
I will say I love Red Dragon and Silence of The Lambs in both movie/book form but, Hannibal itself in book/movie form was an unsatisfying way to end such an epic series and I really feel like it lost the focus of 'what makes people do what they do'. It tried to be a love story where it didn't belong and I feel like no matter what Clarice felt about Hannibal she would always do her duty above her feelings. It just didn't fit and it's a shame. :/

The thing with the movie for me is that they tried to cash in on anthony hopkins and focused too much on hannibal and not enough on will. you dont really feel the complexity of will's thinking process or his weird psyche in the movie. And also, Dolarhyde's "disfigurement" was just ridiculous, as was the fact that they pussied out on Will's own scarring at the end. I have low standards for movies based on books, but this one was a real let down.

I can understand that but I still would say that Red Dragon was a better movie than Hannibal was because it followed a similar feel to Silence of the Lambs and I did watch the movies before I discovered the books. I definitely wish they had focused more on Will's psyche but, at least we have an incredible show to make up for where the movie lacked. I always thought Hannibal and Will had an interesting back story and I'm glad someone finally decided to focus on it in a way that does the characters justice.

Well, the thing is that they dont really have a back story, in the book... I read it before watching, so i didnt think the movie "lacked" it. But the series sure is refreshing in the innovation. And I have to admit i didnt watch or read Hannibal, although it's in my future i'm sure...

That's not exactly what I meant for the movie or the book. I'm saying I wish there was a focus on their story in the past because I really like their chemistry and felt like it would be a good story on it's own. I didn't even know that was the route the Hannibal show was going to take so when I found out it was about Hannibal and Will's past and not just Hannibal's past as I initially anticipated, I got very excited because I've been wanting this story for a long time. haha.
The movie Hannibal actually ends much better than the book which says a lot but, I really do feel like Clarice and Hannibal's personality is lost within their final chapter. It's just incredibly disappointing that Thomas Harris ended his story like that because it really feels like he forgot what Hannibal and Clarice stand for and got too focused on their emotional connection and I don't feel like either of them would ever let the emotions win. I don't know, most people I talk to who have watched and read Hannibal feel the same way.
