Well correction. He's intolerant of the fact that creative, and introverted, minds are often messy. He's constantly on my mother, my sister, and me for not maintaining a standard of neatness that's just like his; granted, we never listen to him, or at least I don't most of the time.
He also is more of a people person than I am. I prefer a good book to the company of others, including my parents. I always have. Don't get me started on the Freudian theory that women search for men that subconsciously resemble their fathers for stability; I have heard the opposite be true of men searching for women who clean, cook, and tolerate bad behavior from them like their mothers did WAY TOO MANY times.

Lol! Well at least you're aware of the situation. Everyone is so unique it would be great if people would stop trying to fit us into their idea of what ought to be! Books rarely disappoint, and are in my opinion, one of the most intimate ways to connect with another human, i.e. the author. It's like reading their thoughts and soul <3

Yeah. Books don't tell you to lose weight, do your homework, be polite, etc. And they don't tell you to live your life for everyone but yourself either. You may change, physically at least, as you get older, but books never do, unless we're talking about novels in translation which vary from edition and translator/author.
