i will absolutely be looking into buying this in the future. also i find it cool that youll allow artists to use the pattern for commissions! i may look into doing this in the future.

i have a few questions, if one were to start selling plushes using this pattern do you have a good starting price, for someone who has... no clue how to price things right? and any beginner tips? (ive sewn a really simple zacharie felt plush before, it was bad because i didnt even have a pattern, didnt know what i was doing at all)

also im assuming we would be allowed to alter small things to better fit a character?

im new to plush, and i want to get into it more, so im super sorry if these are considered .. known things, haha..

i probbaly have more questions but i cant think of them at the moment

edit: could you also give someone tips on how to go about making their own pattern? i want to be able to make my own original work, but clueless as how to even begin to make a pattern...

Hey there!
I usually set my pricing by the hours something takes times the wage I think I should be getting for it, but that doesn't always work if you don't have enough demand. If you need to lower your prices at first, the right price is the price it will sell for. It takes trial and error, and also looking at plush by other people in similar skill ranges and seeing what they're selling for. c:

And of course, you can alter the pattern to fit whatever you need!

Making your own patterns comes down 100% to trial and error. Looking at other patterns helps teach you what sort of pieces you need and what shapes in 2D can be combined to make certain shapes in 3D. I looked at a lot of free patterns when I was starting and they helped me develop my own. Hope that helps!

Do you have a tutorial on how to do markings on plushies?

NoxxPlush In reply to HowlLXVIII [2017-12-19 17:07:39 +0000 UTC]

I don't currently have any tutorials myself, but if they're generally pretty straight you can split the pattern where the marking should be, add seam allowance and sew them together that way. If they're small or complex, I suggest looking up applique techniques! Those are the ways I do markings, as well as machine embroidery on occasion.

I'm dying over the paws omg, how well would you say a beginner (hardest emphasis on beginner) would fare with this pattern? ; 0;

Ngl I'd be willing to practice on it to get better, too cute seriously

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoxxPlush In reply to Khimi-chan [2017-12-08 05:53:18 +0000 UTC]

Hmm, I think the hardest part of this pattern, and the reason I listed it as practiced beginner/Intermediate, is the hip gusset. If you're willing to work through that part (hopefully my instructions help!) then I think a beginner could handle it! You can always note me for help if you need it. c:

I love this. Once I’m able to get my hands on a sewing machine I’ll be purchasing this for sure I’ve always been so intrigued with sewing and creating plushies, I absolutely want to try my hand at it

Yay, thank you! You can handsew this pattern as well, but of course sewing machine is a lot easier and quicker. c: And as always, you know my notes are open for plush questions and help.

do you think you'll ever release a standing quadruped plush pattern? I've been trying to find a good one for ages with no luck and yours are amazing.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoxxPlush In reply to doodlepawss [2017-12-07 20:38:14 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! I'm definitely open to it! This process wasn't as intimidating as I thought it might be, so I'll have to see how this one does. I haven't had to deal with fitting larger patterns properly into the PDF yet, but I think it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.

So going to buy this.
I have a paper question too, last time I tried to print a plush pattern off.. it didn't exactly come out to the right size. What do you suggest?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoxxPlush In reply to PeppermintLeo [2017-12-07 20:36:22 +0000 UTC]

I sized this pattern to fit on standard 8.5"x11" paper so if you print it at 100% it should fit just fine. But if you buy it and have trouble with it, I can help you troubleshoot it some more for sure.

;3; I will need to buy this for sure..
I'm just curious... do I use regular paper or should I go somewhere with bigger paper to print it once bought?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

NoxxPlush In reply to Izumi-Kuro [2017-12-07 20:35:26 +0000 UTC]

You can use regular paper! I sized this pattern to fit on standard 8.5"x11" paper! You should be able to just print at 100% size and have it all fit nicely.
