Thomas was born at the beginning of winter, to a human mother and a lyncanthrope father. He hardly knew them, only for the first few months after his birth. His mother had entrusted him to a priest of a remote village, as the relationship with her husband was becoming so dangerous she had to shelter her offspring, at the risk of her own life. The man of faith attributed to him a new identity; Nox. A latin word meaning "night". The Priest raised him as his own son, and secretly taught him how to control his transformations better. They were triggered by strong emotions, and the first few times were very difficult. Fortunately, the boy learned quickly.

In his childhood, he was the target of mockery due to the rumors circulationg about his condition; his transformations. As a result, he had very little contact with other children. Of a timid and calm nature, he preffered to spend his time observing nature. This allowed him to forge a solid and solitary character, allowing him to accept his difference.
But his secret was officially discovered when he was 23 years old, on a summer evening. He strode though the village when he saw a young woman in the midst of four ill-intentioned men. Nox came to her rescuse, but when he received a blow to his body, he let out all his rage and revealed, before terrified eyes, the monster he had hidden since his birth. The villagers drove him out, and he disappeared into the depths of the forest. The latter had the reputation of sheltering ferocious creatures, and dissuaded anyone from venturing there.

Although the moon had little infuence on the werewolf, he had decided to live in his beast form, for the remainder of his days. He had remained in this form for so long, he forgot the social codes of any human being, making him a wild and savage being.

But years later, a much greater danger lay in wait for him, that of a being who shared the same blood and the same curse.
