Hey!

Yes I use markers for such sketches, but no pencil.

I use markers straight away on A4 copying paper.
The markers seems to blend best on copying paper when working fast (as long as you go over the drawn areas within 20 to 30 seconds, the ink bleeds really well and no lines or crossing marks are visible).

The nice thing with these markers is that you can easily correct here and there (from light to dark that is, not from dark to light) and when you draw the lines with a black fineliner ink pen (0.1 to 0.8mm)afterwards, the effect of the "errors" made in the previous stage often adds to the drawing.

Try it!

great job with the perspective! I'm still lost when it comes to drawing/painting mechanical things.

Very Star Wars - love it!

Can you do a civilian one without the guns, perhaps a family five seater, or a students hatchback style?

I did a ship like that a while ago
You can find it in my ostcount=994" online sketchbook at cgtalk

Aha, you are planning a holiday with the family, I suspect?
Or perhaps a trip with some mates?

Grab my mates, load a crate of beer in the back, find a beach someplace . . . need I say more?

Now you got me thinking about a VW Type 2 T1 as a space-craft. Hmmmmm.

Oh man... those were the days! (I'm 37, got 3kids and a wife, so none of that is happening anymore)

Hey wait a minute, wasn't this about the future?

The future holds a Divorce for me. I'm 34 and had enough. People call it a mid-life crisis, I call it well-earned freedom.
