I almost didn't make anything for the Fourth of July this year. I'll try to avoid injecting too much venom as I explain why, because I'm in a BAD goddamn mood this morning.

I'm exhausted. Between baking pies for my family barbecue today and getting this drawing done, I didn't sleep for SHIT. THAT part wouldn't bother me so much, I'm a good cook, and living alone I don't often get to share that, so I like being able to make something nice, and I like being able to provide cute pin up girls to my watchers here on deviantart. But we're also in the middle of the worst heat wave I've ever seen this early in the season, and I can't stand hot, humid weather. Some people out there-- what's a diplomatic word for "freak"?-- LIKE that, but I just boil like a lobster. This is why I hate summer so much.

But the even bigger reason I was in half a mind to skip the 4th of July pin up this year is because I have no pride in this country these days. Not just because I'm liberal, but because, how can ANYONE with even the most rudimentary conscience look at what's going on right now and think "Yeah, this is a good thing." But some ARE, and they have this country by the balls. I just hope in a few years I'll be looking at this and thinking "Yeah, that was the worst of it."

Maybe I just need a nice, long shower, a nap, a 44oz energy drink from the soda fountain at Wesco (bless you, Wesco! ^_^), and to get baked out of my mind. Not from the heat, the GOOD kind of "baked".
