Okay, I wasn't sure THAT the hell to call this one, because it's the first time I've ever just done a full-on duplicate of someone else's stuff. So I figured the best thing to do was to make that obvious straight away.

I was browsing around the other day and came across Pin-up MissLaurelle by XnBook and I just thought to myself "That's adorable, I wanna draw my own version of that."

And INDEED I did, so here it is. And I might do a few more based on pin-ups drawn in that same extra stylized way. It really helped me see what to emphasize and focus on.

In the past I never would've drawn a girl in a pair of thong underwear, though. When I was younger I thought they were trashy, and the way they were being worn-- they kinda WERE, with the waistband sticking up two inches up past the waist of their pants, and that hideous whale tail poking out. There's a REASON a tattoo in the very same spot is a called a tramp stamp! Paired with makeup at the time that had that glitter in it, and it made girls look oily and sticky to the touch.

None of that says "sexy" it says "I'll have sex with anyone". There's a difference. It was around the time Paris Hilton was really popular. I think Jersey Shore might've finally killed it-- if so, I was wrong all this time and that show DID serve a useful purpose.

Anyway, none of that applies here, fashion trends have mercifully moved on to something more tasteful and attractive. She looks CUTE in the one she's wearing; it's not like something a hooker would wear, it's just a little cotton t-back. And the braids and glasses and socks and everything just all helped the cute tone.

I added the kitty because the bottom of the drawing seemed a bit bare... not to be confused with the bottom of the girl which is ALSO a bit bare, but that was by design-- we don't need to go into the whole underwear talk again.
