Yeah, when I first made this, the only title I had for it was Schoolgirl 4. I drew up a bunch of them that year. Well, four, I guess. For a few years, I got into the habit of drawing girls in school uniforms during August and into September. And the uniforms were strictly because they look cute.

In reality, I find the idea of requiring students to wear uniforms absolutely repellent and I hope it never catches on to any real extent here in the United States. When I was a teenager, that attitude was met with a lot of dismissive and condescending replies, as though they thought I only felt that way because I wouldn't want to wear one and just a lot of "Who cares what YOU think, you're a kid." A) damn straight I wouldn't. B) No, it goes beyond that. And as a grown man, I STILL find that idea to be creepy and reeking of some desperation to force control and order. "Oh, my un-informed friend, you just don't understand WHY they're a good idea. . . " No, I've heard all the reasons. Some are better than others. Still don't agree. It's funny how so many people fail to realize that one can understand the reasoning behind something and STILL think it's total bullshit.

But, again, they make for cute drawings, so, I'll suspend my opposition that far. ^_^

And you can see the extent to which age has calmed me down a bit in terms of how revealing I should make these drawings. The drawing on the left is definitely more gratuitous. It's one thing to draw something that teases with a little peek up a skirt, especially since she's got her knees up to her chest to keep her book in position, so it at least makes sense in some context. But who sits up against a wall in the shade and says "Ah, what a beautiful afternoon. . . I'm just gonna unbutton my blouse for no reason whatsoever except to show some cleavage and make my bra visible to any passersby whilst I do a little light reading."

I was 20 years old at the time, those raging teenage hormones had not quite exited the body yet. . . for those who are around that age and wondering how long it will linger? Oh, 25 or so.
