Huzzah! It's time for 14th Nsio Pose Practice. This time we have Sachiko... pregnant again. Didn't see that coming, did ye now?It was actually such a shame that Sachiko got to give birth to the twin so early, so I didn't get to draw pregnant character for pose practices. didn't want to introduce new pregnant character either. I had to wait for Sachiko. It appears that she and her hubby (Tsuneo) are such a lovey dovey couple. It hasn't been easy to find good pregnancy works anywhere, so I'm trying to fill that gap.
1. Go go Sachiko! Sayaka has mixed feelings on her sister's second pregnancy though. Shoji is about to figure out how to stand on his own. He is such a pioneer.
2. This time Sachiko has flexible yoga pants, so no worries about exploding pants like last time (it happened in this pose practice: Nsio Pose Practice 6: Morisawa Sachiko 2 )
3. Warming up or something.
4. Flexing the muscles around the lower body is important for safe delivery.
5. What be this? Sayuri is standing! She doesn't seem to be proactive type, but apparently she is good at observing.
6. Way to go Sayuri, walk to your mommy! (I don't think real babies would learn to walk that quickly...
)7. Eh, time to eat I guess? Sachiko notices Sayuri has copied Shoji's behavior yet again. (Sachikos belly is a bit larger here than I intended)
8. Babies eat often but not much in one go. So it's Sayaka who gets to help her sister to empty her breasts afterwards.
9. Kohana comes to join the session, only to witness something she probably didn't want to see...
This is all I have for now. I may draw some more poses of pregnant Sachiko some time, but not anytime soon.
I have a bit mixed feeling about using colors in these pose practices. They look neat, but it takes much longer to get each pose done. The coloers don't really serve the purpose I'm doing these pose practices for. I will need to simplify the coloring a lot if I'm going to use them.

I really like the beautification of motherhood you do with this character. All the same, the man in her life really needs to learn to put a rubber on it, at this point. The colors are...ok? They don't really add anything in my opinion. She's in great shape, considering how many human beings she's grown...

I love seeing your work again! I hope the new tablet is working out for you. It's hard to adjust to displays after so long with regular graphics tablets, in my experience. But it does work out better once you're over the learning curve!

Colours again. I think you coloured better than the last time. Colours look more professional and balanced. I think this pace would look good even in physical format (a poster, or a manga page).
She's pregnant again. How I wish to be pregnant recently... if only I wasn't of the LGTBA world, things would be easier. I'm envious

As opposite of many girls, I would never want breasts as big as Sachiko's. Is uncomfortable (When I was fat, breast always went in the way, and is hard to sleep comfortably in any position. Especially because most women tend to sleep on their belly. Survival instinct, is to protect the womb from enemies)
Now that I see the link, you've improved, and a lot than before. Your lines look cleaner and drawings are more solid, anatomies also look better, especially the anatomy of the feet (it was the only thing that you seemed to have some problem, at least in my eyes). There are still some problems, but theuy look wayyy better. Poses look more natural and fluid. But... (2) does Sachiko goes without panties?
Another thing I noticed: You drew children as they were 3 or 4 years old. children that are this young are compact, portly and have short necks (observing my nephew), and even shightly shorter legs and longer torso. Head ratio is OK.
4 - Nah, I would deliver by cesarean. I'm scared by the pain.
5 - Children learning to walk and stand, is all about how developed the hips are. Is not about laziness or observation. I learned this when they found my nephew could not stand at age of 1, despite he walked with supports or by holding himself at something since he was 5 months old (so we excepted that he could walk early, just like my mum and my cousin, that started to walk at 7 months). Of course in the end my nephew learned to walk.
How old your babies are? You said babies can't walk this quickly, but if they're above 7 months old is possible. And anyway they slowly go from crawling to walking, so for a period the to both things. Some children learn to walk without crawl. So I don't think you did as wrong as you believe.

I colored these as quickly as I could and it would have been even faster if I had omitted the smoothing. The quality isn't amazing, but it's the trade off for the quickness. Speed and efficiency are more important in these pose practices anyway.
I used to draw my characters more chubby than I originally wanted. I'm slimming them down gradually so that they remain relatively chubby.
Sachiko's breasts are probably a bit bloated. Once she stops breastfeeding, her breasts will surely shrink a bit. It's difficult to draw just "the right" size. When I'm drawing the lines, they don't look especially large. I can see the volume more clearly when I have the flat colors in place, and at that time I usually wouldn't want to start adjusting anything.
The pose practice series shows the progress neatly. I still have problems with feet, mainly because I don't keep drawing them enough. So after a while, I forget how to draw them and it becomes such a pain again. And when I'm extra rusty (like I was when I started drawing this pose practice), I just need to accept the fact that I can't draw feet at all. That's why it can be seen even in this pose practice how the first poses don't have any attention on the toes, while the subsequent poses will have gradually more attention on them. I just want to avoid getting stuck with things I can't draw to reach the real goals of these practices, which are poses and viewing angles.
I was planning to draw panties for Sachiko, but I admit that I wanted to put more emphasis on her butt. I tried drawing the panties but it looked too messy to my liking. For the clarity of the drawing, I decided to leave them out. For me it's just a small detail when compared to the main goals.
I didn't use any references for the babies, so yeah, I agree that they don't look quite right for their age. I only looked how old babies tend to be when they start to stand and that's indeed the 7th month. It was also easier for me to draw them behave as if they were older so that I could advance "the story". I wanted to start building their personalities by presenting Shoji as a proactive pioneer and Sayuri as observant and smart but passive. They will complement each other, Shoji being curious and experimental but not figuring out things on his own and Sayuri not trying anything if it wasn't her brother (or others) giving the initiative.

Wow, Sachiko has been busy... I do enjoy these pose practices though, they're a good bit of fun. The colour does give it a slightly more polished look. However, how to put it, it almost loses a bit of the immediateness that the slightly rougher uncoloured look has? If that makes sense? Dunno, could just be that you've used slightly more static positions this time around than in some of the other pose practices as well.
Also: Kohana, you wash your mouth out young lady!

I'll probably go with black&white scheme next time, or I'll use simpler coloring to maintain the same feel.
The poses aren't as lively partly because I haven't been drawing much lately. This pose practice was for brushing of the rust. Sometimes I need to adjust the challenge, like whether I'm prioritising the viewing angle or the actual pose. The more difficult the angle, the easier the pose usually is. Sometimes it's more important to explain key moments in the "story", in those cases both viewing angle and pose might not be very interesting. That's one reason I want to avoid too elaborated storiesm becasuse some viewing angles will be automatically out of question if I need to show something specific.
I probably exaggerated Kohana's verbal reaction, but I found it funnier that way

Oh, I wasn't debating the entertainment value of Kohana's response (or, in this particular circumstance, the delivery's appropriateness to her character) at all. More just making similarly exaggerated response to it.
Oddly enough, sometimes I find things that were funny in real life need a bit of exaggeration to make them amusing in comic format or similar... something to do with not being there to deliver the punchline in person.
As to the poses themselves, I certainly wasn't complaining about the more static poses chosen for this one, they're fit for purpose to the story you're telling which, to me at least, is one of the most important considerations for, well, anything (be it drawing, design, or whatever: does it do what it's supposed to do, and does it do it effectively). We get a bit of the the characters', umm, character, right through, and it moves the story along. Yes, it is a simple story, but I think the simplicity of the stories told in these pose practices is part of their charm. Then again, I'm a total sucker for slice of life stuff as well so...

I think there is nothing weird in how things needs to be exaggerated in comics. The point is to deliver the message loud and clear, and exaggeration is a great tool for that. Sometimes exaggeration can make the feelings even more concrete than they would be in reality. Like how hearing some painful truth can be shown as an arrow piercing the character
For the pose practicing purposes I'm aiming for, static and repetitive viewing angles are a problem. My goal is to try out different kind of things, but oftentimes advancing the story won't allow it. In that sense I would want to leave out the story aspect, but on the other hand, it's great how I can tell more about the characters in this format.

Drawing those two big round boobs with additional big belly from several point of view, and considering the physics are pretty much complicated for me
Actually i have a difficulty in imagining the right spot to attach boobs into female body.
Until now, what i have done is just draw it in separated layer and try to move it around to find the perfect spot
I have read your tutorial about boobs physics and some stuff, sure they help pretty much, yet i still got a problem when placing it.
Do you have a simple explanation about "where should you place the boobs" and also for that preggo belly, "where should you start the deformation"?
Btw i love this drawing so much!
I wish i can play around with anatomy as leisurely as you do at some point
