This is a character I've despised right from its first arrival with the X-Men. He was very childish, petty, selfish, dumb as a brick with a screwed up  sense of morality that made him fatally stab a hero [Rachel Summers/Phoenix] to prevent the hero from killing the biggest serial killer in the Marvel universe [Selene/Black Queen], and pretty much insane (Colossus named him "little madman"). He's one of those characters whose popularity i've never understood, like Captain America, Black Widow, The Wasp & Antman/Henry Pym. As far as Marvel is concerned, if it does not have wolvie on the cover it doesn't sell.

When he was introduced he appeared middle aged, 40 and up, and his healing factor only dealt with common wounds. he said "even with my healing factor, a fall from this height would kill me" about a fall from the top of what appeared to be a 8-9 floor building. Then as his popularity grew he became younger and younger and his healing factor was ramped up to ridiculous levels. Now he can regenerate fully, including his memories, from a scorched skeleton state - in seconds!! and even regrow his entire body starting only with a severed limb, unless the current plot requires some drama (eg: "the last time we fought it took me 3 days to regrow my face"). This defies all logic: 1st, allowing that he can do that, why does a reformed brain retain all previous knowledge? 2nd, how would he acquire the necessary biomass to do that? he does not need to absorb any from other living things or to convert energy/matter from his environment like better thought-out characters do. If he weighs say, 350 pounds (he's short, but he's got an ultra-dense metal covering his bones), and his skeleton makes up 200 of those, what are the remaining 150 pounds growing out of?

Ludicrous.

After only a few issues since the X-Men absolutely do not kill, Storm who was then leader of the team forbade him the use of his claws ("only in the most dire circumstances, against the most deadly of enemies") which instantly made him useless. Of course this edict was soon forgotten and he got plenty of use for them claws, only never to kill which is also ridiculous. he's stabbed Magneto more times that can be counted and he's still around.

His popularity caused the spawn of several additional Wolverines: Laura/X-23, Daken, James in ever more ludicrous plot twists so that at least 1 form of Wolvie can appear simultaneously in just about every single fucking comic book title made by Marvel. As if that wasn't enough, a number of characters have imitated the claws with a gauntlet (eg: Kitty Pride aka Spirit/Ariel/Sprite/Shadowcat/Shroud/Name of the week, did i get them all?) and even with their own powers (eg: invisible woman, dazzler), while some have gone the whole hog and assumed both the claws and the "Wolverine" name (Jubilee in x-man first class comic).

All the same, a friend needed an icon for this movie, so here it is.

The package contains Linux/Unix .pngs and Mac .icns as well as a step-by-step guide to turning the Linux .pngs into Windows icons for those who can live with the massive drop in quality.

I wouldn't advise you to use these icons at less than 256x, and 320x would be better.

Formats:

MacOS .icns, 16~512px
Linux/Unix .png, 512px
