NTGreen — A Silent Burden

This is my entry for the Talking In Silence Contest [link] being held by Deadlybuterfly [link]I believe that the hardest burdens we bear are those we carry in silence. Often the deepest pain is the ones we have the most difficulty voicing.
This image is my way of conveying that Silent Burden ... held deep in the soul; the light that shines from within even when the burden is almost too much to bear...and the reaching out to the world, perhaps hoping that someone will notice and listen.
... I am not sure where this vision came from but it was very organic ... it just grew out of the original image by Lockstock and the theme for the contest.
The landscape [link] for the background is stock from Phantompanther-stock
The two figures (and the base for the whole image) were created from a lovely stock image [link] by the incredibly talented model and stock provider Lockstock.
The Sky, planet, and Soul extension are my own creations.

I have being pushing myself to do some different work ... it is a little like going for a walk in a strange forest ... I am not sure if I am on the right path and it gets a bit scary but I have to keep going to see where it will take me!

Thank you ... one of the things that has drawn me to dA (no pun intended) is that people seem less afraid to share their concerns and pain. All too often people feel that being "strong" means being silent.
Although I know intellectually that many, many people feel this way it is hard sometimes to not feel alone ... it is comments like yours that help to prove those feelings wrong!

Yes, too many times when people are face to face they put on a mask and hide their true feelings and emotions.
Life is very much an up and down experience. By sharing both good and bad, we learn to cope, learn empathy and gain strength. You are never alone... yet sometimes it is necessary to be alone and search for meaning and answers within oneself. Often we can gain our strengths from within.
DA is a great community ... one never needs to feel alone here. There is always someone who cares
