Description Not wood fired. This piece was natural gas fired but with ash sieved over top prior to firing. (Note shadow effect of protected areas.) Turned down and carved flange. 19 cm. tall (7.5").

Lemmie get this straight--you sprinkled/poured ash over the top before firing? What kind of ash? : ) Really wonderful effect. Might have to try it some time.

I see your "frog" interpretation! ...though I have to admit that I certainly did not see it in advance of submitting. But sorry, no point in stating a price for this particular piece, however, because it's one that my wife does not want me to part with.

Far away with the thumbnail picture this looked like the face of a frog with a funky little hat. The handles (or the side/top decorations) on the sides were the eyes and the ones in the front being the mouth. With the ash on top being the skin texture.

It was pretty neat.

Up close it's still pretty neat! Nice details

If you were to sell that, how much would you ask for it? You know, in theory, if you wanted to sell it.
