Description
Here's a small preview to one of the pages for my art book. (yes, I'm spoiling a page.) The coyote/wolf...thing was inspired by my white tipped coyote pelt, Mercury. c:I wanted to present the quality I'm aiming for overall. Some will be concepts and speedpaints, but my more finished work will have a similar presentation as this.
A few pages will have simple borders-this one included.
Most of it will be fantasy/environments/characters, but I'm definitely going to be sneaking in some life studies too!

First of all the character, He/she is so beautiful and interesting... and secondly the atmosphere that the background and lighting create makes this so real and tells a story... that looks so great, I love how you connected the subject with the background, in most cases people keep subject and background seperated. You didn't and the outcome proofs it. Great work

The fur markings are beautiful. The muzzle looks a bit short, but I guess that's just because of the view-angle.
The red pearls give a wonderful contrast to the "greyness" of the picture. And the bird skulls add a mysterious move.

Great work, the tail is probably to thick at the beginning but I don't know the character so I don't have to judge that. The worst thing is that I can see that the wolf was made first and the the background afterwords so it fits every step of the wolf, for my taste it would be better if you make the background first and then fit the wolves paws and legs after the background, but great quality

I worked on both at the same time, but I can see what you mean. I usually work more on the bg and then up towards the character but this one just steered differently. I was adding on and having to change poses for the front legs and that altered the bg. Lesson learned.
