I refuse to accept that it's Dick, actually

They gave him the personality of Tim Drake, and the body type of Tim Drake, and the computer skills of Tim Drake, and the trolliness of Tim Drake.

There's also the fact that it was always Tim and Superboy fighting together. Superboy didn't EXIST when Dick was Robin. XD

So pretty much they messed up the timeline majorly and I'm just like, 'lalalala it's TIM SHUT UP'

Haha, I go into comic-book nerd denial.

Tomigiru In reply to onyxprincess [2011-09-12 23:36:28 +0000 UTC]

Well, not necessarily, because I doubt Dick would want to associate himself, knowing that Bruce would be there, and relationships between those two are still...strenuous.

There's also the fact that Dick has to manage Bludhaven pretty much on his own, which is probably a lot of work (along with being a police man)

OMG! I totally thought that too at first until I saw the episode where he was finally doing flips, but even then he messed up a bit much for it to be Dick.

I totally agree about Superboy too! And, Kid Flash should be Bart... It shouldn't even be Kid Flash. It should be Impulse! Though I can't complain too much because I love what they're doing with him in the show. Also, I'm sort of glad Roy is there... but again... way AU... I wish he was part of the team though.

Yeah... I feel that way exactly... Why is it so hard for them to just put Tim in a show?

SOME ONE WHO AGREES WITH MEEEEEEEEEE

I know, it's like the general media has a deep hatred for Tim. FOR NO REASON.
I mean, Tim is smart, and cute, and funny! What's so wrong about having him on the show

And yeah it should be Bart...

And Roy shouldn't be there either, or he should be older and should be Arsenal already, and then maybe we could have Nightwing show up too....I think that would be a good idea, but why listen to the fans, right?

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-16 23:41:38 +0000 UTC]

YES!

Yeah... he wasn't even really Tim in BTAS... he was Tim fused with Jason Todd... wtf?!
Yes! He is my favorite Robin! I think people don't want to have to explain who he is or where he came from or how he became Robin. Now the reboot is stealing his awesome origin though. >.<

Yeah! I love Bart! Still... love how yaoi for Robin and Red Arrow Wally is so I will accept him. XD I just keep telling myself it is an AU series that has nothing to do with the real timeline... It is completely AU like Xmen Evolution or something... that makes it palatable... well... that and yaoi Kid Flash. XD We watched the part of the ep where Robin had his mask off over and over and over. XD

Yeah... totally... That would be awesome, but they never listen to the fans and even if he did show up he would be too bara, have a crap haircut, and a terrible voice actor probably. It's so hit and miss. I feel lucky when something comes out that at least doesn't suck entirely. It's weird how Batman and Superman switched personalities in that show too.

Dick's actually my favorite, but I don't think that means it's fair to shove him into everything and give the other Robins absolutely no credit! Tim is adorable and smart and kinda bitchy and I love him for it.
UGGGH DON'T MENTION THE REBOOT. D:

Wally is extremely ridiculous slashful and I do really love him for it.

Uggghhhh I hate X-men Evolution. Mostly because with X-men, I'm a kinda hardcore comic fan. Haha.

Ugh, you have a point.
And I dunno, I don't think there's a 'too bara' if they just go with the normal design of the comics, and then there's also the fact that they don't really do very muscular with their art style in the first place......but they'd still probably fuck him up.
AND YEAH WHAT IS WITH THAT.

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-17 00:05:15 +0000 UTC]

Dick was my favorite until about a month ago. Some of the old Teen Titans comics things he did drop him down about a notch below Tim for me now, though I still love him. I totally agree about Tim.
Lol... *facepalm* *headdesk* IKR! I just...ugh... I can't believe they are putting Kon back with Cassie again... among lots of other things... UGH! -_-

XD That's been sort of the savior for the show. Did you get the free comic book day comic about it? Rob shows him his face in one of the images.

I love the Xmen, but quit reading at the end of the 90s when they changed everything to be AU. I can't read it now. I find most of the movies to just be painful too. I like Xmen Evolution as a good High School AU which most things fail at High School AU. I just don't consider it to have anything to do with the real Xmen... but for that matter I don't consider the current Xmen timeline too either. The only Marvel I currently read is Young Avengers stuff. Speed is my fav. XD Lol... we watched all of Wolverine and the Xmen... that show is so weird... the pairings are freaky. lol I was very hard core Xmen for about 5 years.

I liked the way they did him in Gotham Knights but found him too bara for my tastes in The Batman and his voice was too deep. I was ok with him in the Red Hood movie except his hair and his shiny bits on his costume. I also wasn't great with his voice. I think he had the best voice in that new DC Direct videogame or whatever it's called. I watched the previews on youtube because I don't play games. It's sad the video games seem to get all of the best stuff. My fav rendition of him was probably in the Teen Titans cartoon even though it was way AU and bishi. I thought it was hot, but there was way too much Starfire in that ep for my tastes sadly, and I hated what they did to Beastboy in that ep.
YEAH! It is so WTF? I keep telling myself... it's just an AU... it's it's own separate thing... stop yelling at the television and just enjoy it for what it is, but I like my Batman pissy and dark. I couldn't even watch Justice League because of how they made him in it. The Young Justice cartoon does at least make for interesting AU RPs though. I wish they would hurry up and put out the rest of the season already. This is ridiculous. They need to stop dragging their feet.

If you read some Nightwing comics, the love will probably come back. I dunno, I just always loved him the most. I love all the Robins really, though.

It's not really AU, and it wasn't just the 90s, since in the 80s they came out with the Uncanny X-men which wasn't the original team, and stuff. It's more they reboot and have different timelines/universes. They actually do that kind of stuff all the time.
No offense but I can't stand Young Avengers.
Actually, Wolverine and the X-men is so much more accurate and true to the comics than X-men Evolutions. I was actually really happy with the accuracy, and impressed that they were actually going to do the Rise of the Phoenix arc.

I don't think you can really call it bara when it's not even anime, haha
It's more that he was muscular, and I mean, I don't see what's wrong with that...they're heroes, and they don't even have superpowers, meaning they have to use their own physical abilities....I mean, Dick and the whole batfamily would need lots of muscles for some of the stuff they do.
I actually hated how they drew him, they made him much too skinny and gave him ridiculous hair, but they portrayed his personality really well.
Oh, I never had much of a problem with Kori simply because I knew Dick ends up with Babs because Kori had to go back to her planet eventually. And I was MAD about the Beast Boy thing, but I mean.......it made sense.

But, um, one thing, I don't think you should call them AUs, because they're all technically canon.
Comics and the comic book related universes are just weird, but I don't think they really qualify as 'AUs' and stuff.......lol

Sorry, some of your terminology is bugging me a bit, but I'm just picky.

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-17 01:18:55 +0000 UTC]

I don't know... I still love him, but sometimes... It might help though... except Dixon sucks at writing female characters.

The Uncanny Xmen tied into the Xmen comics and stayed on the same timeline to the original comics which was the same universe and the same characters. At the end of the 90s the whole thing changed entirely and all of the characters completely changed personalities. It was way too painful for me to keep reading after that and was pretty much a totally different universe... hence the term AU... another universe.
Lol... Wolverine and the Xmen is only accurate to the newer books since the changeover and I wasn't fond of the pairings or the lack of character building scenes. It seemed hard focused on the plot as a whole and I watch and read primarily for special characterization and character interaction so it was a bit lost on me. I watched all of it though. As for Evolution, it was very "What If" so I guess I was ok with that. I didn't think it was trying to reshape or be what was in the comics so much as be it's own thing entirely which I was ok with. I more so dislike when they do things that try to retell the timeline but they get it completely wrong. Lol... As for the Pheonix... I've had way more than enough after movie 3 butchered it and they keep redoing and redoing it. *facepalm* Jean and Scott weren't my fav characters to begin with though. Jean wasn't given hardly any characterization in that show either which I found sort of sad.

Well can you think of an American term that in one word means "extremely muscular"? That term refers to American things as well in Japan so why can't it in America?
I don't see a problem with it... I just don't like it and I think Dick needs to be more lithe than muscular to do the types of flips and gymnastics he does. Batman is more the very muscular type. If Dick was too muscular he wouldn't be able to move around as quickly as he does because too many muscles add too much bulk. That's why gymnasts are more lean and wiry. Where Batman's fighting style is lower and more from the ground, Dick does most of his fighting in the air and usually forgoes grappling hooks to jump and flip from place to place.
I liked it though I know it is completely different from the comic books. I thought that was fine since the show was very different from the comics in itself. His personality was pretty good though.
I don't like Kori because of all the lieing, cheating, manipulating, possessiveness, etc. She entertained me half the time in the cartoon though because she was so different from the comics and her voice was funny, but when she got possessive I got annoyed. Thank you though... Babs is my het pairing for Dick for sure. I just wanted her to be with Dick all along. Ugh... but then comes Nightwing annual #2 (which doesn't even make sense with the rest of the timeline, not that anything in Batcomics does) *shakes head* Nightwing annual #2 was just painful.
The Beastboy thing didn't make sense to me because of the things I had read in the comics, but yeah... hated it. I liked what they did with Raven fine though, but I thought what they did to Vic was too far over the top. I wish the series wouldn't have ended. I wanted to find out who Red X was... and lots of other things.

But they are AU to the cannon of the comic book. Each thing is it's own separate universe. Where as they are each their own official cannon approved by DC they are each AU to one another.

*shrug* S'ok. Sorry to be annoying you. I do tend to use a lot of convention hipster slang. *facepalm* I think I picked up most of it cosplaying and talking about characters at cons. But I can understand terms being annoying in certain contexts... Like I hate when people here in Washington state call a hoodie or hooded sweatshirt a sweater. A sweater is a knitted garment with a loose enough knit for the yarn to be seen and could or could not have a hood. A hoodie or hooded sweatshirt is made of sweatshirt fabric. Anyway... sorry for that long explanation, just trying to say I empathize. I know I tend to use my fandom words interchangeably but honestly you've been the first person to care, and there are a lot of words I simply can't find an American term for like tsundere that seem to fit so many different fandoms.

Haha, yeah. Ohhh god it's going to take forever to write a reply to this, just saying.

Well, in the 70s and such, the team was originally Beast, Angel, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, Iceman, and Wolverine. Then it transfered to Storm, Wolverine, Cyclops, Phoenix (still Jean though), Beast, Jubilee/Shadowcat (depending on the time), Nightcrawler, and Colossus. This was the first major change they had, and it was the universe that Wolverine and the X-men was based off of. I don't know what 'weird pairings' you're talking about, but Wanda (Scarlet Witch) and Kurt (Nightcrawler) was actually canon in the comics, though they didn't last (in a different universe, they did stay together and had a daughter named Nocturne)
I really have only read the Uncanny X-men from the 80s-90s, and from what I've seen from the new comics, they're just repeating old story lines, except with shittier art. I remember seeing the storyline where they went to Ireland and wound up meeting Banshee's brother (who is evil, btw) and Kurt met leprechauns and it was ridiculous but cute, and the only thing that made me mad was the TERRIBLE new art.
I never watched the movies. I couldn't stand even five minutes.
And to be honest, I've always hated Scott and Jean. Scott really comes off as a pussy to me, and Jean is just...a flat character. It's kinda sad to me that they gave the most lacking personality-wise the most power.

I agree, but even though gymnasts look somewhat lithe, they are actually very impressively muscular. Have you ever seen one naked? (Wait, weird question)
But other than his gymnastic feats, you have to remember that he climbs buildings and fights with escrima sticks...I think that would require quite a bit of muscle. But I agree, he has a much more boyish figure than Bruce.
I wasn't saying he should be totally ridiculous body builder muscles, but I don't like him drawn all super-kawaii desu with like.....no real muscle structure other than pectorals that show.

Yeah, Kori was pretty annoying but I got over it. In that 'she'll be gone eventually' kinda way.
I haven't read that horrible issue, which I suppose I should be glad about, since I am a MAJOR Dick/Babs fan.

Ehn, I guess. I try not to think too much about it, or I'll probably be stuck on it forever, knowing comics.

No, no, it's fine.
I used to be a super weeaboo/otaku, and I still use Japanese/Anime terms, but I dunno, I just don't like it when my anime fandoms interact with my comic fandoms. I'M REALLY WEIRD AND PICKY HAHA
Sorry to bug you about it.
I feel kinda bitchy now. But I just.......ugh, how do I say this without being offensive...? My weeaboo friends have been all up on me recently and I don't wanna think about it, haha

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-17 03:23:07 +0000 UTC]

Oh... Sorry... ^_^' It's all good. This took me a while to type between posts with my friend on AIM. Now I have to go clean house a while. lol.

Um... well originally it was just Beast, Angel, Marvel Girl, Cyclops, and Ice Man. Wolverine didn't come along for quite some time, and soon they were adding characters left and right but it was all still in that timeline. I started reading in 94 but backread to the late 70s early 80s though I do have Xmen 26 before they started calling it Uncanny Xmen... which was a stupid title change that I think did nothing but confuse everyone since then they started making Xmen comics as well. I read both series because the plots tied into one another back and forth and I couldn't make heads or tales of what was going on without reading both. I think it was an evil thing Marvel did to force everyone to buy both if they wanted to know the whole story. Yeah, I remember when Shadowcat was in Jubilee's spot and The New Mutants were in the spot of Generation X. Wolverine and the Xmen seems to use things like the Jean Grey look and pairing from the new post 90s Xmen and tie it in with things that happened in the old series. I do credit them for tieing in new stuff with old stuff to try and bring all the fans around but ultimately I wanted more character interaction and less weird pairings like Gambit/Polaris, Wolverine/Mystique, Storm/Angel. It made my head spin a little. I know I haven't read all of the old old comics from the golden age, few people have, so I know I have missed some things, but I find the timeline to be a lot more coherent up until the end of the 90s when it all just pretty much rebooted and Rogue was no longer brassy and southern, and Chamber went all to hell and don't get me started on what they did to Emma Frost. I just couldn't bring myself to read anymore. I tried really hard, but kitty Beast and Cyclops paired with Emma wasn't helping one bit. I just gave up after a while. I honestly didn't know about Kurt and Wanda because I focused more on the Xmen, Uncanny Xmen, and Generation X books, though I did read chunks of other titles. If it happened after the reboot or whatever people are calling it though I don't count it as I don't count anything after that.
What I've seen of the new has been repeating storylines but with awful art and the characters are all watered down or dilluted in a lame way. Plus, many of my favorites aren't around or are completely different. Most of the books I read were also 80s-90s. The cartoon art was really weird... I liked Kitty a lot better than she was in Evolution though and Kurt looked good, but Wolverine looked ridiculous and was a bit tall and way too lean. I am good with characters who are supposed to be muscular and stalking being so.
I watched the first movie with excitement because I had been waiting for years for a movie to come out. It was palitable for the time but then the second one came out and was just horrible and boring. I fell asleep during it in the theater. The third... ugh... the third... I don't even want to go there. I liked the Wolvering movie for what it was for the most part, though I hated what they did with Deadpool at the end. The most recent movie was ok, but I didn't like what they did with many of the female characters and I really didn't see why they had to make a movie with mostly mutants most people just don't care about. I honestly never cared that much about Xavier or Magneto, but that's just me. Though the movie made them entertaining, it didn't really seem like it was them. It was one of those 'it is what it is' sort of things like most adaptation media unfortunately.
Yes, I hate Scott and Jean too. Scott is a pussy and an @$$ for what he did to Madline Pryor(sp?) It really is sad they get most of the emphasis on them. It's such a waste. Jean is just Mary Sue as all getout.

Yes, they are very muscular, but the muscles aren't bulky like they keep drawing them in shows and things. They are more lean. They aren't muscles on top of muscles. Ironically, I have. I am a professional costumer. Well, I have if you count arialists, contortionists, and dancers.
But Jackie Chan also climbs buildings and uses weapons and he is not super bulky muscular... for example.
Yeah, I sort of like him and Bruce to have very different body types.
I just feel like they keep drawing him with ridiculous body builder muscles from time to time (hence why I used the term bara). I would like to see him more like Spiderman shaped. lol... and you were teasing about my terms... 'kawaii desu' is way too weeaboo for my brain. lol. Although it does seem a fitting term given the circumstances. I liked seeing him like that but I can totally understand how it might be annoying. I know a lot of people called the whole series too fakeimae and compared it to Totally Spies or whatever. I found the episodes to be hit and miss. The plot eps were great, but the crack eps were way too many and way too annoying. I liked that they tried something different though.

Lol... that's the way I was too, but they keep bringing her back over and over... I was happy with her gone and had gotten over it but now they keep bringing her back and her fans are rabbid and don't seem to know how to do much other than attack. I could handle her in the cartoon mostly, but ugg... the more I see her in the books the more I just feel agitated. I was happy she at least wasn't with him anymore but fear that she will be again in the reboot.
Yeah, don't read it. It's painful. They also make Dick Babs's same age in it which makes no sense at all. They are my het OTP for sure. I started on Batman the Animated Series so of course I am addicted to them. I am the only person on the web happy to see Babs is going to be Batgirl again. Don't get me wrong, I love her as Oracle, but I'm ready to see her in costume again.

That makes sense. Nothing really ties in well with each other it seems. I pretty much just pick the authors I trust and like and follow their cannons for the stories. I sort of keep all of the things in seperate timelines that are different universes from one another in my head.

I used to be too. I am still very otaku and use some Japanese terms, but only when it is something I can't think of a good American term for or I don't like the American term for or I use the Japanese term so much I forget to use the American one. I haven't used Kawaii or any of that since 2001. lol. I mostly use catch phrases from shows when I'm cosplayed as a character or fan terms used to describe characters personalities or structures. I have a melting pot I sort of throw all of my fandoms into together. I don't really differentiate at all. I wear my comic book costumes to anime cons and my anime costumes to comic book cons and just don't care. In Japan they use terms like those to refer to all forms of science fiction, fantasy, and comic book media so I do too. I can use more comic book terms for purists, but find I have to use whole sentences where before I could just use one word to get my whole point across. We need more good American character terms. We seem to fail at that. Even the word "slash" isn't the best term. I mean, when I first saw it I thought it refered to slasher flicks, but then even when it was explained to me there is a slash used in het pairings too so it seemed a bit off of a term. IDK. I still use it, but I was using 'yaoi' years before that so it's the one I naturally use first out of habit and because slash still confuses a lot of people. Some people even think I am talking about the member of Guns n'Roses. *facepalm*
It's cool. I don't think it's bitchy. I like when people are honest about their feelings about things. I mean, how can I stop annoying someone if I don't know what I'm doing that is annoying them. I differentiate weeaboo terms from anime hipster terms based on if squeely 14 year old girls are using them or not and if there are American terms that can be used instead of forcing them into a sentence. If I think something is cute I say it is cute. Most of the terms I use are ones me and my friends use when we are just trying to describe a fandom style in a hurry. I honestly don't know how else I can quickly say for example my friend Tyler loves tsundere female characters and they annoy the crap out of me. I would have to say "My friend Tyler loves the girl characters who are pissy and mean and hate on guys at first but then suddenly fall madly in love with them for no apparent reason like in "Taming of the Shrew" and they annoy me". Do you see the diff? Probably not. I know hipster words can be pretty annoying too if the person doesn't know what I am talking about and then I just feel like an @$$. I try not to use them around people I know won't know what I am talking about cause that's just rude and sort of snotty. I totally understand what you are saying though. Most people on the outside of the convention circuit sort of lump all Japanese style or words or otaku stuff into weeaboo fandom. We actually seperate ourselves from the cat ear wearing, tackle-glomping, lolita with tenisshoes wearing, kimono wearing, festival going, squeeling kawaii desu loving tweenies. I hope that isn't offensive, but on the inside of the circut we are more just hard nerds as opposed to... IDK... all of that. Don't get me wrong, I was like that in high school, but that was like... more than ten years ago. I have always been into a huge variety of nerdy fandoms though. I was into comic books way before I got into anime. I just like the anime conventions more because there are more costumes. I also like things as completely opposing as Dr Who fandom and such too. I even go as far as to use terms like 'retcom'. It's mostly that I don't have fan discription terminology I don't use. I use Trekkie and Star Wars terms too, like holodeck or lightsaber (even when it's a beamsaber). I am just sort of a fandom geek melting pot if you will. If it bothers you I can try to remember not to do it as much around you though. I know I'm the worst about using the term *sweatdrop* too. But, again, I can't think of a good American word to replace it with and it seems to fit so many situations.

Sorry that was so long and wordy. *facepalm*

I am not going to respond to all of this because by now my brain is fried.

Um. The Gambit/Polaris wasn't really a real pairing to me since Remy was pretty much using her (and he does that with everyone)
Wolverine/Mystique has actually happened in the comics as well, disturbing as it is /shudder
And I have no idea about the Storm/Angel because I don't remember seeing that at all so idk

besides that I am done being wordy, I might kill myself, haha

I thought Mystique/Sabertooth happened in the comics. When did Wolverine/Mystique happen? If it was in the new ones that would be why I missed it.
Stom/Angel was in the episode right before he ended up loosing his wings. It was super awkward and I was all "WTF?! He is with Psylocke! Not you! This is weird..."

Daww.... Daww... don't do that. Who would I send books of comic geek DA posts too?

It's fine

Mystique/Sabertooth happened too. Mystique sleeps with everyone, lol
Wolverine/Mystique actually happens more than once, too.
She's disguised herself as others to seduce him, and he went with it even though, due to his sense of smell, he knew it was her.
It's not new, it actually happened way back.
One of the one actually NEW pairings I can think of is Wanda/Pietro, which was only in an alternate dimension anyway.

I still can't remember the Storm/Angel at all, haha
And I didn't think he was ever with Psylocke either.......haha, shows you how up to speed I am on Wolverine and the X-men. XD

hahaha
I won't

and I dunno, some other comic book lover?

Lol... apparently she gets around. I had never heard of that before.

Wanda/Pietro?! @__@ Speewwww.... That's... that's her gay brother.... thats... speewww....

Feel lucky you can't remember it. It was terrible.
Psylocke was his main pairing in all of the 90s comic books. I loved reading the stories around it. Wolverine and the Xmen the cartoon didn't even have Psylocke, and I have never read the books because they fall under the new Xmen comic books which I dislike because they are another universe from the 90s ones category.

Good good.

Lol... probably. I do pretty often.

She's such a ho, hahaha

I don't think Pietro's gay, is he? He seems more like......he only likes himself, haha.
But yes, they're brother and sister. They're Magneto's childrens.

Hahaha
I never payed much attention to Angel and Psylocke, they barely showed up in the issues that I've read.
Well, actually, Angel showed up quite a bit, but Psylocke, not so much.

No, Psylocke was in the Wolverine and the X-men cartoon, I remember, Pietro pulled her in to work with the Brotherhood because of that one mutant that was pretty much a bomb? They utilized her psychic powers to keep him calm so that he didn't blow them up.
And all that jazz.
Now I don't know if we're talking about the same cartoon, there is turning out to be a lot of discrepancies between our accounts of it....hahaha

It's not too hard to find comic book peoples on the interwebz, after all.

Not as much as Starfire I'd say.

It depends on what you are reading/watching. I would ship him with himself though. lol. XD
Yeah... cest ships freak me out. Yeah, and Speed and Wiccan are Wanda's kids.

It sounds like you only read half of the story in the 90s so that would make sense.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. Sorry. She wasn't quite the same in that. I think they stuck with the original of her before she got Mojo versed. It's been a long while since I have seen that ep. I was pretty disappointed with what they did with her as I was in most cartoons when I saw her.
I believe we are. We watched half of it long ago and the other half a couple of weeks ago. I should go back and rewatch the first half again or something, but I wasn't all that fond of the show. They focused too much on the characters I didn't care about and the plot with not the character building eps I would have hoped for.

Yeah, but most of them seem to only have read the new stuff or just picked up one or two books and watched the bad movies for the most part.

Nah, I think Mystique has slept with more people
there's also the fact that she has a tendency to kill/mistreat the children that result from her sleeping with everyone....

He's a total narcissistic douche. He totes loves himself.
Hahaha, I am too used to it to be freaked out.
Yeah, Maggie has some epic grandkids, man.

I've read a bunch of the story arcs
it was never one big story.
I've read a lot of the multi-issue books....you know, the big chunky ones? I'm not actually sure what year they're from EXACTLY though, I don't bother to check most of the time. But it's the Uncanny X-men team with Nightcrawler and Colossus et al.
I also have read a lot of random bits here and there of either really old stuff or really new stuff? I'm broke, so I snatch at whatever I can, haha.
I've read the entire Rise of the Phoenix arc, and a lot of the arcs with the Krulls or whatever the species that Princess Lilandra is from (I never remember the name, I fail, haha)
I've also read most of the story arcs where Cyclops was the leader of the team since Xavier was MIA.....................
But I'm sure there's also a ton that I missed.
XD

Yeah. I dunno, I liked it because in most of the comics I saw her in it WAS after she ditched any premise of being in a team and she mostly chilled by herself unless someone called her in specifically.....
I just saw the beginning half recently because Nicktoons had a marathon, hahahaha. I was disappointed though, the marathon stopped right after the two episodes introducing the Phoenix arc and the Hellfire Club. As you can imagine, I was not very happy.
I don't even LIKE Jean but I LOVE that story arc.

Ugggghhhh don't bring up the movies, I'll cry. XD

Well I suppose there is that, but she doesn't manage to annoy me as much while she's doing it.

I like that about him. XD In Xmen Evolution he was so flaming he was waving his hands around.
I'm used to people shipping it, but it still freaks me out... I'm an only child and it freaks me out. I don't even understand how people with siblings can ship that stuff, but to each their own I guess. I hate when people think I like it just because I'm into slash pairings though. They are totally unrelated.
Yeah... hey, I thought you hated Young Avengers though?

I bought all of the comics as they were coming out in order starting in 1994 and read them that way until the end of the 90s when the timeline changed and I was furious. I also backread old ones a friend gave me and I found in the 25 cent bins.
Yeah, TPBs (trade paper backs) or graphic novels... I get ya. That's how I read a lot of my DC comics.
I'm not sure which time periods you are talking about. There are lots of different times and books you could be referring too. Like I said I read mine in order instead of arc style too.
I'm broke too so I download online and snatch at 25 cent bins these days. College loans are getting me down.
I read that if you are referring to the original and have about half of them. I don't know much about the Krulls except for Young Avengers and I read parts of the Princess Lilandra thing. My favorite arcs were Mutant Massacre and the mid 90s ones with Rogue/Gambit and Archangel becoming Angel again and saving Psylocke with the Red Dawn. I also loved the Psylocke Ravanche arc. I also loved Generation X.
I haven't read most of those because they are after the time change and I just couldn't. I read the beginning of that arc but I just couldn't keep reading.
Honestly I'm sure there is a ton all of us have missed. There are way way too many books for everyone to have read everything. I have blank spots in the timeline I follow for sure and don't even know the new stuff at all. It's the same with with DC though. They name them confusingly and keep changing the numbering systems which doesn't help. There should just be compilations with the characters you want to read about that take all the best parts so it's less confusing.

I heard she was lame after the new timeline changeover which makes sense to me, but IDK. She is probably way different from the books I read since everyone is in the new timeline.
That's awesome yet lame of Nick at the same time. That is pretty typical of them though. They treated the Avatar the Last Airbender series like crap and released them way far apart with barely any merchandise and a horrible movie adaptation while Spongebob gets everything. *shakes head at Nickelodeon*

Yeah, I'm there with you for the most part. They are what instigated the horrible time change, (soft reboot, another universe whatever you want to call it) in the comics after all.

Tomigiru In reply to violet-plude [2011-08-17 23:37:33 +0000 UTC]

I really hate her because of how she treats her real children.
Especially since Kurt is my favorite X-men and stuff....
Also, she just annoys me with her constant trying to seduce men.

Dude, even as a flaming queen he would still love himself the most. XD
I dunno, since I know about real accounts of actual incest and I feel kind of bad immediately condemning those people just because it squicks me out........
And I support Fred/George in the Harry Potter fandom so I feel like a hypocrite if I complain about hetero incest.

I wish I had enough money to do that. I scrounge what I can get. XD
I dunno, it's so hard to keep up with comic book time lines
And it's even more impossible to know if you're talking about the same story arc, since sometimes they take the same story arcs and re-do them?
AUGH COMIC BOOKS, Y U NO BE CONSISTENT?!

Wouldn't it be funny if the stuff I've missed is the stuff you read and the stuff you've missed is the stuff I read? lol

I dunno about the new timeline, so idek.
I just remember her being chill and one of the most sane characters in the comics, hahaha
I blame M. Night Shamalamadingdong for the terrible movie actually
And I think Nick isn't that bad because if you get Nicktoons you can watch so much Avatar a day that you'll memorize the lines. But I suppose that's unfair to people who can't get fancy cable.
And I really used to like Spongebob but all the new stuff sucks. :/

SERIOUSLY
I mean, Emma Frost couldn't even do that stupid diamond thing before the fucking movies brought up that ridiculous idea. I mean, wtf, that was out of NOWHERE.

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-18 00:21:10 +0000 UTC]

I can agree with that. She is pretty evil. I have no idea why I am fine with her. I think she was more entertaining in the stories I read growing up, but I can definitely see why you would hate her, and what she did to Kurt was atrocious yet still makes for interesting story... same with Rogue. I guess that is why I am ok with Mystique. Many of the stories she is the catalyst of are entertaining at least. She has a place in the plot and story as a whole that moves things along.

I would be great with that. XD If only he could make clones like Impulse. XD
Wow... where do you live? Middle America? Feel free to bop me on the head for that one. I grew up in Texas, but live in Seattle, WA area now thankfully. I don't know anyone personally who is in that sort of relationship although I did at one time. I don't condemn anyone for what they do in their own home that doesn't create children who have to suffer or involve anyone else as long as everyone involved is of age, but I still try to stay far away from that fandom.
I don't support twincest because I know way too many actual twins and they are not the same person but more like actual brothers or sisters. Like I said though, too each their own fandom wise. I like characters getting it on with themselves via time machine, alternate universe travel, clones, or other though.

I had a lot more allowance growing up. You can catch up by dling online though. Yeah, I wish they would stop redoing the same arc over and over and over again. It's confusing and how must the people who keep reading for new stories feel? It is hard to figure out if you are on the same page though considering there are so many books to cover and no one has covered them all. I don't claim to be all knowing about the books at all and I don't think anyone should.
They are so inconsistent. Especially DC is inconsistent. They put out a book recently that totally contradicted a book that came out 12 issues before it. That is just sad. They can't even agree on how old the characters are, and if you try to account for the things that have happened based on times mentioned it doesn't make sense at all like a TV soap opera.

That's probably how it is... it seems to be that way with me and many of my Xmen reading friends. lol. We seem to fail at connecting what we read. Did you read the arc where Wolverine lost his antimantium(sp?), went feral, and licked Scott in the face?

All of the times the Xmen books are each different timelines from each other are after the new time changeover. I don't know.
Lol... that's ironic because she was totally messed up in the books I read from Mojo and then the Red Dawn. In the older books she was Caucasian and English though and wore pink, but then Mojo switched her body with a Japanese samurai warrior's.

I agree. Shamalamadingdong has all of my wrath considering he violated my favorite fandom with that tripe, but Nick played one ep every two months or so while they were coming out and they are the one who chose the horrible director.
Yeah, now you can, but when they were coming out you had to wait months between episodes and a year and a half for the last season. It was irritating and made the show loose a lot of fans. Also, the series was supposed to have four seasons and Nick cut it back to three which made the third season sort of choppy and lost us a whole season of episodes to watch. Also, I want good merchandise. Where is my ATLA sheets, ATLA toothbrush, and ATLA slippers with Zuko's head on them? >.< Spongebob gets all of those things and more.
Yeah, I only got regular 70 channels, but we took back our box yesterday because Comcast was ripping us off. Now I just have hulu.

Yeah... and don't even get me started on the new Nolan Batman movies.
Actually she did that in Wolverine and the Xmen too, but I still hate it... It doesn't make any sense and came out of nowhere and made me go WTF?! Plus, they made her all weak and lame. Did I mention I hate her with Scott? It makes no sense at all with her old characterization. They lamed her up a lot in the reboot.

Tomigiru In reply to violet-plude [2011-08-18 00:42:21 +0000 UTC]

She IS a fantastic plot device. But I still dislike her, haha
I am very unforgiving towards characters who do stuff that is bad. I'm weird like that, haha.

I live in Florida, my family is from New York.
And I don't know any of the people PERSONALLY, but I mean....they have explained their selves and I don't really have the heart to be mean to them, even if it kinda gives me the willies.
And the twincest is because, even though I know not all twins are like the same person in separate bodies, to me, Fred and George were. In the Harry Potter series they were so intrinsically connected that I can honestly not say just Fred or just George, because they come in a set. Haha
But it's fine if you don't support it. A lot of my friends don't.

I might try downloading stuff, actually.
And yeah, DCs inconsistency is why I don't read them as often.

I only read part of that arc, but my friend Deanna filled me in on the rest of it, yes. lol

Hahahaha.
I've never seen her as a Caucasian either, actually. I've always seen her as an Asian with a purple and pink outfit that, imho, is kinda trashy but, what female in the comic universe DOESN'T have a trashy costume?

SERIOUSLY. I didn't even watch it but STILL.
Yeah, that's true, but I didn't mind when I was a kid because there was always some other cartoon on to watch, I guess.
I WANT ATLA SLIPPERS.
I want Katara's whole outfit, actually.
Oh, that's a bummer. I have Verizon Fios, because we get it in a bundle. We needed new phone and internet so we were just like, 'hell, let's get the cable too'

Ghashjgaslkashjh NO NO NO DON'T BRING THEM UUUUP
I know, it's really annoying.

And actually, her and Scott is also canon and was canon since the old comics, but I still hate it a lot. A LOT.
Mostly because I hate Scott. And have a vague irritation towards Emma. Haha.
And I think it showed up in Wolverine and the X-men because it came out after the movies, I think.
Stupid bad movies, fucking up our fandom.

It's cool. I'm unforgiving of a lot of characters for a lot of specific things. Like I hate M'gnn because she left Aqualad to die so she could go hit on Superboy some more even though I don't like Aqualad. lol. It's more the point that she would leave a friend to die because the guy she had the hots for was in some pain. I can't stand watching her throw herself at him all the time either or her catch phrase.

Wow, that's cool. I have never been to either of those states. I was born in Cali.
Yeah, I understand. Like I said, I just try to stay out of that stuff.
A lot of my friends are into that pairing. I just don't believe any twins are like the same person. I know way too many identical twins to believe that. I think it's fine to ship whatever you want though as long as no one is getting hurt by it.. like the babypr0n fans and such... eww... I think that's wrong and no one should ship it because it is like child porn. I think that's where I draw my line in the sand. I do get sick of people coming up to me when I am cosplayed at con and trying to get me to pose with them in incest pairings all the time though. I get sick of all the Zutara fans pestering me to pose with them too though.

We download from Pirate bay but you will need a comic book reader to do so. I can't remember where we got ours but I can ask my roommate if you want me to send a link when she gets home, just remind me. I read all of a lot of series that way like Red Robin, the new Batgirl, Batman and Robin, etc.
I just try to ignore the inconsistencies and go with the authors I like and ignore the authors I don't. It's bound to happen any time you get multiple authors which is another reason I broke away to anime instead for a while... one author... consistent story.

That's cool. Lol... I fell over laughing. XD

I usually read her as Japanese in the blue or black costume but did read some when she was English like Mutant Massacre which is arguably one of the best Xmen stories. It sounds like you read an entirely diff version of her. I can't name many characters that don't have at least slightly trashy costumes. I just figure the excuse is they have to be able to move around easily in them. I am good with some more than others but will suffer most things as long as the costumes are colorful and original to that character.

I did, unfortunately. We went in costume.
lol... I was an adult in college when ATLA came out. I'm so old. *facepalm*
YES! I should make some.
You should totally cosplay Katara. That would be awesome.
We had our cable bundled too with our internet and we live in an apartment so we don't have much choice on what is available. I am just gong to watch online now.
What shows do you watch?

Yes... I can't wait till this one is over so hopefully someone good can get their hands on the Batman movies again finally. There hasn't been a good Batman live action since Batman Returns.

I never saw her and Scott in 90s or 80s comics. I hate it so much. I saw Scott only with Jean and Madelyn Pryor in the books I read.
I hate Scott unless I'm watching him flirt.. ehhh.. heh.. fight with Wolverine. XD
I liked Emma before but hate what they did with her now. Before she was just openly a bitch and I was cool with that.
The last movie came out after Wolverine and Xmen didn't it? IDK... either way... it sux...
I totally agree. I am admittedly ok with what they do with Wolverine but everyone else seems to suck for the most part. One good thing was in the newest movie when they went to ask Wolverine to join the Xmen team and Wolverine told them to "$%#@ off" in a cameo. I think that set the whole tone for the movie which was amusing. If Wolverine doesn't even approve no one else should. XD

In Young Justice she annoys the shit out of me, yeah.

I dislike living in Florida. Love New York though.
I've never been to Cali.
oh, I know identical twins usually aren't like that in real life but hey, Fred and George are fictional and they really were written as one person, kinda.
I'm a Zutara fan, haha. But I also like Kaang............I am not really very adamant about ships in Avatar.
Also, by babypr0nz, um, what do you mean?
Because I mean, I ship some couples that are really teenagers, and technically not legal, haha....

I will get my friend to figure that out for me, she's pretty tech-savvy.
HAHAHAHA YES. ANIME. CONSISTENT STORY. CONSISTENT WRITER. THANK JEBUS.
But I put up with the inconsistencies just because I LOVE THE CHARACTERS.

I can name a lot of trashy costumes, mistreatment of female characters, and general sexism.
One of the best examples is Dark Phoenix. If you read it, you'll notice that the more power she gets, the less clothing she wears.
There's also Huntress with the costume that had the ridiculous belly window thing. Let me mention that the outfit was designed after a story arc where Huntress got GUT SHOT, which would have left a terrible scar, so I can't see her wanting to show off her stomach. Also, it makes her extremely susceptible to attacks, which is just stupid.

Ohhh, oooooh, guess my age! GUESS MY AGE!
Do it, man. They'd be glorious.
I WOULD, if I weren't already planning two cosplays and extremely broke. XD
I watch way to many cartoons, including Adventure Time, Regular Show, My Little Pony Friendship is Magic, GI Joe Renegades, Dan Vs, and a bunch of anime (though nowadays I mostly read manga)
And then I watch NCIS, Doctor Who, Torchwood, and CSI.

Hahaha. Yeah.

Well, they never got together because Scott actually had STANDARDS back then, but she had the hots for him, that's for sure.

.....you just gave me the willies thinking of that ship, to be honest. /shudder

I dislike Scott because I think he's in general a bad leader, and he doesn't really think things through and imho, he doesn't think much at all.

I like her being a manipulative bitch, but they made her too weak, to be honest.

X-men First Class actually impressed me with its goodness, considering the crap they'd cranked out prior, haha

violet-plude In reply to Tomigiru [2011-08-18 02:19:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I want her to be the character they kill off.

I don't think I would survive the humid Florida heat. I moved away from Cali when I was little but still go there for conventions from time to time. The cold rainy Seattle weather is much more my speed. I have always wanted to go to New York and see what it is like.
That makes sense to me. I think people get too bent out of shape about fictional characters too often.
I have a very good friend who is a Zutara fan. I just don't like it. I like Katang. My fav pairing is Zuko/Sokka, but I am open to a lot of ATLA pairings. I mostly don't like when the older characters are paired with the younger characters unless they are aged up or something. I get a bit grossed out by child characters being paired with older characters. The worst is when you type in Katara in google and there is a pic of her from the beginning of the series pregnant. ewww...
By baby pr0nz I literally mean people who ship toddler aged characters with each other or with adults sexually. I like teenage pairings fine. My cut off is usually 14 most of the time. I am fine with Katara and Aang as long as they aren't doing anything but peck kisses. I think they are a bit young, but for example I don't want to see 10 year old Dami making out with Dick Grayson. I understand the pairing but wish people would age Dami up if they were going to do that, but that is still not the toddler/baby pr0n. I'm sorry, but anyone who sexually ships characters that are under the age of 6 should be ashamed, and too me 6 is a really painfully low number.

Same here. And I hate reading manga because it isn't in color and often the characters look so much alike I can't tell them apart, but then often the anime chops up the story line of the manga... like in Naruto. I am very picky about my anime and don't tend to like everything by a long stretch.

I agree. Me and my roommate were just talking about that the other day how the guy characters don't get costumes near that sexy. It's pretty annoying. I like the interesting shapes and colors of the Huntress's costume but it has no practicality at all. Here's sexism... Babs is in a wheelchair due to spinal injuries and Damian gets his spine shot up and is up and walking after having his spine replaced within two weeks. Everyone is complaing about Babs being able to walk after the reboot but no one has said a word about Roy getting his arm back. >.<

Ok... I will try. I have been mentally all over the place at guessing your age but now I'm guessing 17. You want to guess mine? I've been dating myself all along.
I will if I can find the time. It probably won't be till winter. I have a lot of costume commissions right now. I am making Greed, Fleur, um... Stein, and some others for commissions for people and a whole bunch of DC costumes for me as well as Roy Mustang so I am quite busy.
I buy most of my fabric at thrift stores to save money. I am totally a starving artist. Getting a degree in Fashion Design doesn't do anything for your pocketbook if you live in Seattle.
My gf wants to cosplay Lumpy Space Princess. She also watches My Little Pony Friendship is Magic. I watch a lot of anime, Pretty Little Liars, Toddlers and Tieras, a lot of comic book cartoons, Dr Who, Torchwood, Being Human BBC and American, Becoming Human, Glee, IDK other stuff... I hear good things about CSI.

Even the Catwoman costume in it sucks completely.

Lol... That's messed up. I hate how they made Emma a stripper in the new timeline too.

Lol... my job here is done then.

I think he's a puss wad and a user when it comes to what he did to Madelyn and he sux at leading. He's also really dumb.

Exactly. That is what I hate about the new version of Emma.

I liked how slashy Charles and Magneto were but other than that I was all meh... Why make a movie about the mutants I don't care about? I was with Wolvie. lol. I wish they would make a Gambit movie... a good one if they can manage.

haha, they won't.
And it would be kinda difficult, seeing as she's a martian.
And she does have SOME redeeming qualities, thank GOD.

I don't like Zuko/Sokka at all, actually. I just can't see it.
And I don't think....Zuko's not that much older than Katara, is he?
Anyway, my age limit for writing actual porn is like....16. Technically still illegal, but with all the sexually active teenagers, very plausible in my mind.
When Aang turns 16 Katara will be...uh....what, 18?
Even though Aang will technically be 116, hahahaha
.....I every now and then dabble in semi-shota, but I usually limit myself to 14 as the youngest I'll go.
And it really depends on the pairing, as well.
For instance....I don't even like Damien, so there's no way that I'll ship him with Dick. But I DO ship Dick/Tim on the side, haha. >___>

I'm really good at telling characters apart, and I like the black and white, actually.
I also love that there's no fillers usually, and I know it's accurate, because sometimes animes fuck up the original story soooo much.

Uggh, I know. There's so much sexism in comic books, it annoys me.
............but if you ask me, Nightwing and the Robins have some pretty hot skintight outfits. Haha
The spine thing is DEFINITELY unfair,
But I think it was more plot-related, since they need Damien right now and they need Babs to be Oracle, not Batgirl again.
LALALALALA WHAT REBOOT LALALALALA

I'm 15. I'll be 16 in two weeks.
I'm gonna guess your late twenties/thirties, since you've finished college.
Oooooh that sounds really cool, man.
Problem is, I can't sew worth shit, hahahaha.
I would totally wanna see pics of a LSP cosplay.
Sounds cool.
CSI is good, CSI: New York and CSI: Miami? NOTSOGOOD. DO NOT WATCH. Hahaha

WHAAAAT ABOUT A STRIPPER?

uggghhhh yes, thank you! He annoys me soooo much.

Well, I mean, they were already super slashy in the comics to me, so it didn't really come as a surprise to me...
And I actually like Banshee and Havoc and Mystique and Beast and everyone.
I love all of the X-men, almost.
Wolverine's not even my favorite to be honest. Nightcrawler is.

AND OMG A GAMBIT MOVIE YES PLZ.

I know they said they are going to kill someone. I was hoping it would be her or Aqualad. I'm praying it won't be Red Arrow.

Lol, it's all good. I like lots of diff pairings from the show. I like Jet/Sokka too and many others. At the end of the series Zuko is 17 and Katara is barely 14 I believe. Aang has that whole Anikan hitting on an older woman thing down.
I agree with your age limit. I age characters up if they are too young. Katara is a year and a half older I believe because at the end of the series Aang should be 13 since the whole thing takes part in a year and he is 12 when it starts... well 112.
I agree... it really does depend on the series but I usually don't like way older character with way way younger character.
OMG! I totally ship Dick and Tim. <3 Tim is his little stalker fanboy. XD I ship Dick with a lot of people though (especially Tim, Babs, or Roy) and I ship Tim with Kon too and sometimes Bart.

Yeah, I fail at telling them apart. OTL But I can with some books like Ranma, Inuyasha, Naruto, and FMA. Other books, like especially yaoi books I can't tell the characters apart at all and it kills me. I agree totally about the filler which is why I only read Naruto and not watch it and stuff like DNAngel they just ruined in the anime. I only watch subs. I'm sort of snobby about it. One of our best friends only watches dubbed anime and he is always teasing us and calling us hipsters. I hate how they wreck the story when they redub though and the voice acting can be pretty crappy sometimes too.

Yeah, me too.
Yes they do... Nightwing shows a lot of gooch. XD
I want her as Batgirl again. I'm the only one. I have always wanted her as Batgirl. I never wanted the other Batgirls. I do think there is a need for the role she is fulfulling but they have already come up with another character who fits that role perfectly so I don't really see what the problem is. I don't care if she is still handicapped or not, I just want to see her in the Batgirl costume again. Ugh... the reboot... Reboot is turning into a dirty word. I can't believe Dick is going to be older than Babs and Roy now... wtf.

Wow... So I was a year off. XD I feel a bit guilty talking to you about pr0n now. ^_^'
Good guess. Don't freak out or anything but I am 31. ^_^; So when I am talking about the new books generally I am referring to the ones that started in 2000 because that's new to me. *facepalm* Actually about half of my friends are 17 or 18 because anime cons are a pretty young crowd.
Thanks. XD
I couldn't either until I went to school for it. I could sew basic things but nothing fancy or well. I have always been obsessed with costumes though.
She probably won't make LSP for a while but she will post pics on DA when she does. It should be epic. We make lots of giant mascot and robot costumes. She would fall under the mascot costume category I believe.
I dunno... I have so much I've been told to watch first by friends like Merlin, Sherlock Holmes, and Supernatural

Yeah... it's crap... they made Emma Frost an exstripper in the new timeline.

Yes... It wouldn't be as bad if all the stories didn't seem to revolve around him as well.

Yeah, same, but I guess I was more surprised to see sleezy Xavier. lol.
I like those characters you named in the comics but wasn't too hip on what they did with them in the movie and I felt like it was all just background characters... like the celeb B list.
I have my favs but I do like a lot of the characters. Chamber was my fav Marvel character but Rogue is a close second for my fave Xman. I do love Nightcrawler.

Yes... Why do they keep making random crap when they could be making a Gambit movie?

If they. Kill Roy. I WILL RAGEQUIT THAT SHOW SO HARD IT WON'T KNOW WHAT HIT IT.

Well, no, Katara was 14 at the BEGINNING of the series, so....actually idk how much they aged during the series. DERP.
But I don't think that's bad (it's only 2-3 years), since I mean, a lot of married couples in my family have HUGE age gaps, and they have the most beautiful relationships. Like, the marriages in my family? That's the type of marriage I want. They're all so sweet and happy together. /sigh
Sorry, off track. Anyway, so age differences like that don't bug me.
More like....age differences over ten years kind of bug me, but if the couple is really good they don't. In real life it aggravates me but only if one is a teenager. If you're above teenagedom, you can usually make good decisions....
Tim and Dick just have such a delectable dynamic.
I'm a sucker for characterization and characters (probably because I'm a writer) and dynamics, just...unf.
I ship Tim and Kon and Dick and Roy as well...I mean, with Dick, he's lived a whole life already, of course he's dated multiple people.
And Tim....he's a TEENAGER. HAHA

Mmmm, Nightwing's outfit man.
No, no, I wasn't saying I don't want her back as Batgirl. I DO. She was SOOOOO badass, and the other batgirls suck. She should be back kicking ass.
But it's not my decision, and I like her as Oracle too, because she's still Babs, after all.
HOW EVEN.....HOW IS DICK GOING TO...WHAT.
LALALALALALA WHAT REBOOT LALALALALA OMG DC TAKE THAT STICK OUT YOUR ASS AND YOUR HEADS OUT THE GROUND LALALALALALA

Dude. I started reading yaoi when I was 11. Don't feel guilty.
My first thought on your age was 'YES I WAS CLOSE'
I'm not creeped out, I tend to get along with adults more than teenagers, usually, haha.

I wanna learn how. I think my grandma might teach me. She is a master seamstress like whoa. Haha
That sounds like it will be epic.
OMG WATCH SHERLOCK, YES. (if you're talking about the BBC version, it is just 'Sherlock' and I HIGHLY recommend it.)
I have to watch Supernatural, too. haha

................what the actual fuck.

Seriously. What I really loved was when Kurt (the one with one of the worst lives and the best outlooks) kinda gave Scott a slap to the face.
Scott was all, 'wahh, I can't look my wife in the eye, waaahhh'
And Kurt was like, 'Wait, okay. I was born blue. Think of what you're saying.'

I liked it, because a lot of them were in the original team or showed up early on in Charles' life. (except Havoc wtf was that whatever he was cute)
I don't understand why they made Sean so young when he wasn't in the comics but whatev.
I liked that they had what actually happened to Beast to make him blue and stuff, because that was actually canon.

I like Rogue but at times she gets a bit repetitive and whiny.
Kurt is just....I wanna date a guy with his personality, he is fantabulous.

Because they hear out cries and purposely ignore them.
lol

Ditto... They need to kill one of the lame characters... I would be ok if they killed Artimus because then Roy could be on the team, although I would rather they kill M'gnn or Kaldur. If they killed Kaldur then Garth could be on the team... I dunno though. Kaldur has been getting a lot better recently and less Mary Sue.

I was pretty sure she was 13, but IDK. I need to look it up again.
I think it's more the ages they are based on. 2-3 years is nothing when you are over 18, but in teenage years there seems to be a huge difference between certain ages. Age differences bother me the most in shows like Loveless where one boy was 13 and the other was 28. That's just gross... not to mention statutory, but it unfortunately seems to be a popular fetish in yaoi anime which annoys me to no end. I like the guys to be simular age and size with a few exceptions like Tim and Dick or Roy and Edward. I am fine with people in real life having huge age gaps as long as neither of them are underage. I would be married but my gf of 8 years and I can't get married because it isn't legal in this state. -_-
Lol... s'ok, I got off track too. I agree, it is a lot easier to make good decisions once you are past being a teenager.
I totally agree about Tim and Dick but it was so sad and messed up when Dick asked him to stop being Robin because of Damian... ugh. I think it distroyed Timmy a little bit. I was annoyed too... I mean... it hurt Dick really bad when Bruce fired him so Jason could be Robin... Why would he turn around and do the same?
Yeah... Dick has been around. I don't know if there is a Teen Titan he hasn't slept with. ^_^' I like that Timmy is less permiscuous.

Indeed... finger stripes... yowza!
That's good to hear because no one else anywhere seems to feel that way. I'm glad to hear you agree about the other Batgirls too because they really really do. I agree. I like her no matter what and think she was a great role model as Oracle, but just because we get a new series with her as Batgirl doesn't take away years of great Oracle stories.
Yeah, that's what I said about the age change too. It's such crap. It's also crap Timmy is getting a new origin story. I hate it. DC needs new creative directors for sure.

Wow... that is young. I started reading yaoi when I was 17. I matured very slowly as a teenager though.
That's good. I'm glad you are cool with it. I have friends of almost every age now I think.

That would be awesome. If she doesn't teach you I have a lot of friends who learned from free classes at Jo-Ann Fabrics. It might be something worth looking into if you have those there. Sometimes it is really hard to learn things from people directly related to you.

I will totally watch Sherlock. I am talking about the BBC version. BBC versions are always better. We lived in London for 4 months in college.
Supernatural is hard to get into because they are brothers and have awkward close chemistry which disturbs me.

YEah... it made me furious. Just because she dresses that way doesn't make her a stripper.

Good for Kurt. I think I remember that. It was awesome. Cyclops just all around sux. He could be cool, but he is not... not at all.

Well the original team wasn't even there which was weird. Havoc is supposed to be younger than Scott... I was like WTF too... Gambit could have been there though... he's an external.
I think they made him young because he was older when Charles was older... IDK. I was like WTF that Eric killed all of everyone else exept the actual person who killed his mom as a child.
I didn't like that they made Beast come off as a total prick, and before he was still more Beast shaped.

I feel like she doesn't have a personality in the newer books which makes me very sad because Rogue was so brassy and southern in the old books and I thought her kiss attacks were kind of cool.
I agree completly about Kurt. He is adorable and cool.

You mean because they suck.

I think it would make sense for them to kill Artemis, actually...

I'm bored of the age thing now hahaha
Because I don't really think it matters unless the age gap is over 10 years and one is a teenager, as I said.

I was really mad at Dick for it too....but knowing him he probably had a reason...................I dunno. I was still mad.
Yeah, I think Tim is more likely to be all flustered about sex and not really willing to do it at first...like, it would take a lot of wheedling and bargaining and whining to get into his pants, haha.
Dick on the other hand....I don't think he's slept with THAT many people, but he's definitely not shy, and if he sees someone who he would want a relationship with, he would speak up.
I also think that he usually has sex with people only if he cares about them........he's a pretty loving person, imho

Sherlock is amaziiiiiing
Hahahaha, it's not that awkward.
It's more the fandom making it awkward.

I don't like the way she dresses, actually, but you're right.

Yeah. He made me so happy by speaking up like that.

Yeah....
Beast kinda used to be a bit of a prick, in my opinion, actually. But whatevs.
And Erik has never had common sense, haha
Not even in the comics.

Yeah, I liked her, though all the drama between her and Gambit would sometimes grind on my nerves simply because it was like 'dude, we've been over this same stuff over and over again'

Kurt never ceases to amaze me. He's had one of the worst lives of the team, and yet he's still happy, and manages to have a bright outlook. He also has a killer sense of humor and constantly reminds me that chivalry is not dead, because he's such a gentleman.

They don't ENTIRELY suck, so I wouldn't say that, haha

Here's hopeing they think it would make sense to kill her as well.

Ok, lol... I am too. I am more just annoyed when it is really really old guy with super young barely teenager or pregnant female character.

He did have a reason. He really had to keep an eye on Damian and that was the only way he thought he could. He should have just made up a new costume for him though.
I think Tim is just a lot smarter about sex and has seen what it has done to everyone else around him, particularly Roy and Dick.
I honestly can't think of many people Dick hasn't slept with. It's a bit disturbing. I think he confuses easily but thinks he cares at the time. Like there is a panel where Kori asked if he loved her as more than a friend and he said "no" thankfully. I think there are two people he is ultimately in love with and all of his other relationships tend to fall flat because it isn't ever with them... because ultimately things won't work out with either of them.

That is what I hear about Sherlock. I must watch. I need to catch up on the new American Torchwood too. I have only seen the first ep. I thought it was pretty derp though.
The fandom does make it awkward but the actors have way too much charisma with each other which also makes it awkward and now the series is starting to cowtow towards the fans who are making it awkward and is making refrences about it in the show.

I liked the way she dressed because it was originally intended to be her middle finger to society's expectations and to show how powerful that she was that she could dress however she wanted and didn't care. She didn't give into anyone just because she dressed super sexy. I miss when she was like that.

YEah... I was like whatever about Beast. I didn't care that much. Lol... oh Erik... *shakes head* Common sense really isn't his strength. That's ok though. He makes for a good villian most of the time.

I liked the stuff between her and Gambit at first but now I hear it has just turned to utter garbage. My fav for her was the Rogue miniseries. I think the problem is people won't let that stuff die and move on to something else or just have them be together... no way it would have lasted this long. I hear it is just getting redundant and now she doesn't even have the right personality for it to be entertaining.

I just heard that he was killed off recently in the comics from someone's comment on my Marvel vs DC poll. I hope that's not true. Marvel is evil with their Xmen characters though so I wouldn't put it past them. I totally agree with you about him.

Well... they suck at the moment in their movie choices.

They don't have sense, so probably not.

Yeah. And ew pregnant teenage girls.
Uh, hello people, CONDOMS.

Ehn, crappy reason.
Yeah, see, I agree about Tim, but not about Dick.
I suppose I always have kind of weird views on characters? No one ever agrees with my ideas, hahahaha.
I do agree that he's not very good at judging what, exactly, the relationship he is in with people is....which is not good.
But I can think of people who he hasn't slept with.
MAGICAL LIST OF PEOPLE I THINK DICK HAS SLEPT WITH: Roy, Kori, Barbara, Tim, Jason (iffy on that one), some randoms guys and some random chicks thrown in, maybe Wally once or twice (maybe, but that seems to me like it would be more of a 'bro I'm horny, you horny?' kind of bro thing) And I'm sure somewhere in his head he had issues with wanting to sleep with Bruce because batfamily is spelled I-S-S-U-E-S. They're just full of general psychological problems, really.

I AM NO LONGER MAKING SENSE I APOLOGIZE.

Yes. You must watch.
Well, even so, I wouldn't give up a good show just because of some awkward brotherly relationships.
I mean..........no, I really can't think of a good example besides SPN but STILL.
The merit of the show isn't ruined by the awkwardness.
And the Destiel will make up for it.
(haha, I'm sorry to say that I ship a bit of Wincest on the side....but Destiel is definitely more canon to me)
Though the Destiel is a bit awkward because Castiel is an ANGEL but still..............

Also, she has fantastic boobs, why not flaunt them?
I mean...come on.
BUT HOW COULD THEY DO THAT.

He does make for a good villian, however lacking in strategy he may be.
FOR INSTANCE NOT TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE FACT THAT CHARLES' WHEELCHAIR IS FUCKING METAL.
XD
Or coming up with the 'take the adamantium from Logan's bones' idea IMMEDIATELY.

I really don't think they should be together anymore
After what happened in Antarctica, they should have moved on and just stopped being together, because they would honestly never be the same, and it would just suck for both of them.

WHAT.
WHAT.
...................But, I mean, comic book characters never STAY dead, so I'm not THAT hurt but...
That is a horrible disappointment, seeing as he is such an amazing character.
And thanks, I'm kind of a bit of a dork about him

Hahaha
Okay

Good point. They really don't have sense sadly which is why we get such horrible adaptations. I didn't even think YJ was a great adaptation. I was just desperate and it was better than a lot of the alternatives.

Yeah... people's fandoms never cease to astound me. I don't like pregnancy in shows and fics whether it is regular or Mpreg, but especially if it is a young minor. Ewww...

I totally agree with your list of people Dick has slept with, but I would add Bruce. We have this whole theory that that was part of what went wrong towards the end of him being Robin, whether it was Poison Ivy drugged or something just happened. We all know how Bruce can be with people who get too physically close to him. It makes sense with his behavior. They really are full of psychological problems. It's what makes them interesting to read about.

How are you not making sense?

We just watched Merlin and if it is anything like that... definately watching. I'm so obessed with Merlin all of a sudden.
I like to slash characters in my mind when I am watching a show naturally and when I watch Supernatural my mind goes there and then I am super grossed out and then I'm just like no... I am watching later seasons now where Castielis there and I can slash him with them instead, but unfortunately that is the part where they start cowtowing to the incest fans and making references on purpose. Shipping angels doesn't bother me at all. I guess what I'm trying to say is I dislike seeing that sort of ongoing incest stuff so much I might give up the show if it continues. I am pretty picky about shows anyway though. Everything has to have a perfect balance and come together just so for me to want to watch anything in the first place. I don't deny people their fandom, I just don't want incest forced in my face or I'm not going to be into the show or whatever it is coming from, like Angel Sanctuary.

Yeah, making Emma Frost an exstripper is an insult to us all.

I like the art and I'm pretty okay with the story but they still tend to piss me off mostly.

Mpreg really bugs me.
And with pregnancy I'm all old fashioned and like 'if they're married and then have children that would be super cute....wait, they're not married?...oh. Um. Well, as long as they know they're gonna be together for the rest of their lives, I guess...'
I blame the way I was raised. I mean, because I DO support Helena Bonham Carter and her relationship with Tim Burton, and the same for Johnny Depp and his wife....I just have my moments of being like...a 90 year old woman in a teen's body.

It depends. I waver between they did, and they didn't.
Because I think either one could explain the awkwardness and stuff.
Whether they actually did sleep together or Dick wanted to sleep with him would both create some awkwardness, methinks.
I dunno.
Everyone's headcanon is different anyway, haha
And yes, they really are interesting because they're kind of twisted and sad, and so, so terrible lovable for all of their problems.

I dunno, I feel like I always lose track of things and go on tangents, haha

Really, I'm watching the first season now and it's not really as slashy as the fans make it out to be.
Like, even though I do support Wincest I can totally understand why you don't....it creeps some people out.
And if you're not really looking for it, trust me, you won't see it.

Oh, I still think it's worth it in the long run, especially because it doesn't really seem as slashy as the fandom would like to make it.
Like.........it's really not that bad.

it really kind of is.
Women can apparently no longer dress sexy unless they use to pander to men by taking their clothes off.
