Oh boy I'm kinda late getting this done and I'm about to get on a plane BUT here is Cassair's trip back to Iadlain from Song-Lu after the Mutiny day attacks!

Basically, in an odd twist of fate, he runs into Iollan at the Song-Lu train station while heading back. He doesn't meet Iollan immediately; after simply noticing him in the crowd, Cassair waits until the train is boarded and out of the station before searching through the carriages for him. Once he finds him, he checks that this really is Iollan - because wasn't he meant to be in Iadlain? Why is he here? - and then, after that is confirmed, realises that something is very wrong.

Cass knows about Iollan's curse - not everything, but enough - and the symptoms of it this time are far too much. Most notable for Cass are the nightmares - usually he can and does overwrite them, but during this five-day journey back to Iadlain, he finds that his own dream illusions are not taking hold. Again and again, the curse shreds them apart.

So he shreds the nightmares too, as many times as he needs to, as many times as he can, until they can reach the forest of ghosts they're meant to be in.
