Bio: Gilga Taggers was born in Otoh Gunga to scientist parents, who worked at the Otoh Gunga Zoological Research Facility.  During most of his childhood, he spent a great deal of time at this location, developing intense fascination with the natural science of Naboo.

In his teen years, Gilga joined the Gungan Grand Army.  He was given basic military training, but was kept out of anything dangerous due to his youth.  However, that changed when Otoh Gunga was attacked by the Trade Federation, and Gilga’s parents were killed.

When Queen Amidala formed an alliance between the Gungans and the Royal Naboo, Gilga managed to get accepted into the troops that battled the Trade Federation on the Great Grass Plains, becoming one of the youngest soldiers to see combat.  After the Battle of Naboo, Gilga lent his skills as both a soldier and a biologist in improving newfound relations between his people and the Royal Naboo, as well as during the Clone Wars.

When Palpatine declared himself emperor and reorganized the Republic into the Galactic Empire, Gilga participated in guerilla-style raids against Imperial troops.  However, during a skirmish against the Empire while fighting alongside a rebel strike team on Naboo, Gilga was seriously injured and evacuated to their base on Yavin 4.  During his time recovering there, Gilga was too weak for combat, but was able to assist rebel patrols in recognizing and avoiding dangerous wildlife in the moon’s jungles.

After the Battle of Yavin, Gilga returned to his home system when the Rebel Alliance landed Zephyr Base on Naboo’s moon of Rori, and took the opportunity to once again fight with his people against the Empire, and then help to push them off Naboo following the Battle of Endor.

Gilga Taggers continued his work as a biologist in the Gungan military while liasing with the Alliance of Free Planets, who had representatives on Naboo, and later the New Republic.  His combat experience, as well as his skills in biology, caught the attention of the newly-formed Corsairs, and was offered a place in Dav Corona’s crew.  Gilga gladly accepted.
